Publisher's summary

“He’s the omega I didn’t even know I was looking for.”

Kohen Russell is a farm boy, through and through. He’s been riding horses and tending the land on the family farm since he was a teenager - and with their corn maze being the best in the state, it’s a lot of land to tend. It’s a simple life, but fulfilling - and his dad never hesitates to remind him that it would be even more fulfilling with an omega by his side.

"I’m totally into him - but is that reason enough to stay?"

Archer Mills has gotten bored. He loves his work as a veterinarian, but Sunnydale is known for treating dogs and cats, not the large livestock he’d prefer to work with. He’s all set to transfer back to his hometown when he’s called out to work on Kohen’s horse, Bex. Bex will be fine…but meeting Kohen proves to be the change in trajectory that Archer has been looking for.

Welcome to Sunnydale Vets, where love is the best medicine, and all it takes to fix your problems is the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get to work. This heartwarming audiobook features mpreg, a meddling old coot, a famous farm, and the sweet tenderness of finding the one who lights you up inside. This audiobook and every other audiobook in the Sunnydale Vets series can be listened to in any order.

Sweet sweet story!

Awesome book. It started with a shy Alpha and a confident Omega. However, the characters evolved in time, even after facing turmoil. I definitely recommend this book.

Good story, the narration not so much

So, this one was hard I did like the characters and the story and when the narrator was just telling the story it was fine, when we got into voicing the characters and dialog it was just way OTT with exaggerated/silly and not very good accents which is a shame because it took away from the story and made it a bit of a tough listen.

Austin & Kohen

Austin's career has not turned out like he imagined, he misses his family, and has no one to date. Meeting Kohen at a call to his place just may change his mind. Kohen is a sweet and smart Alpha but not very self assured. Austin opens his mouth before thinking about what he is going to say.

Absolutely wonderful

I loved this story especially how the weaker sex took down the stronger one. Brilliant!

Lovely Romance

Archer Mills is a veterinarian at Sunnydale Vets. His passion is large animal work. He doesn’t get to much of that at Sunnydale. Archer has been thinking about going back to Texas. He misses his family and large animal work. Archer gets an emergency call from Kohen Russell, to tend his favorite horse, who has been injured. When Archer meets Kohen, everything changes. Archer is very attracted to Kohen and the feeling is mutual. Arches loves Kohen’s farm and is learning to love Kohen. Kohen wants to court Archer and take it slow. The relationship has it’s ups and downs. Sunnydale Vets works its magic once again. This is a story you will want to explore thoroughly. Austin has written another wonderful book in this series. Thanks also to Guillaume Dubois for his wonderful narration.

A Path Taken

Kohen and his "Pa" Duke own a farm and run a corn maze every year that is recognized as one of best. Kohen has had some problems with bullies in the past that has made him very reserved and hesitant to trust. He wants to meet an omega and start a family of his own but no one has really connected with him on a level where he sees it being serious.

Archer works for Sunneydale vets but doesn't really feel satisfied in his current position. He grew up on a farm in Texas and studied to practice medicine on large animals. He hasn't been able to do that at his job and is considering a transfer back to Texas to be with his family. Archer gets a call one night to Kohen's farm to help with a hurt animal and this meeting changes both their lives.

I really liked Kohen, he was so giving and ready to love someone. He opened his heart and life to Archer and it was so beautiful to watch his journey. Archer's confidence and loyalty to those he cared about was exactly what Kohen needed in his life while fulfilling Archer's dreams at the same time.

Highly recommended. I really enjoyed Guillaume Dubois' narration and especially he portrail of Kohen. I think Kohen's voice and his beautiful soul are what drew me to this audiobook from the start.

I received a copy of this audiobook but this is my honest review.

Career vs Love

Veterinarian Archer is wanting a change from the small animal clinic that he works at. His speciality is large animals, livestock.

An unexpected run in with a length of rusty barbed wire has cowboy Kohen frantically calling every vet clinic in the area for help. On this day, only Archer is available.

While patching up a prized mare, Archer and Kohen begin a personal friendship. As it progresses, Archer is offered a job in Texas, closer to his family. Anyone who has had to choose a career path can sympathise with Archer and his decision.

Narrator Guillaume Dubois did an outstanding job of bringing the "old codger" Duke Russell to life. Gruff and cantankerous, Pa quickly became a favorite personalty. Kohen, his son, is played with a deep, calm tone. Very nice. Archer is given a Texas twang with plenty of "aint"s and "y'all"s. So sweet!

The story is peppered with rural colloquialisms that bring you right into this small town. Phrases like "pitchin' a fit," "riled up," "I reckon" add so much charm to the characters. This is a story that is even more fun in audio. Author and narrator worked very well with this volume. An enjoyable reread/re-listen.
