Publisher's summary

Hope: Bride of New Jersey is third in the unprecedented 50-book American Mail-Order Brides series.

In this faithful Jane Eyre retelling, Hope Middleton was all but thrown away by the family that was supposed to care for her. Now on her own, she loses her job when the factory where she worked burned to the ground. With no other alternatives, she answers an advertisement for a mail-order bride and travels to Newark, New Jersey, expecting a simple life in a quiet community. Instead, she is thrown into the middle of the dark mystery that surrounds her enigmatic fiancé, with only the chance of falling in love as her saving grace.

This retelling brings the drama of a Bronte classic together with the romance of a mail-order bride novella.

Great lovestory, bittersweet ending. Narrator did an excellent job with all the different voices. Full complete story, just perfect in its length and depth.

Fantastic

I listened to this one on audio.
The narrator Meghan Kelly is amazing. She brought the story to life!
I loved this book. I loved the mystery/suspense part of this book. It took some twists and turns I didn't see coming. I loved it. It ended perfectly but I wanted more. Well written. The characters were great. They were thought out and all have great personalities that I could relate to. Read or listen to this book. It was great!

Wow it’s unbelievable

This is such a well narrated story. Meghan Kelly completely blew this one out of the water . When the story starts and you hear Hope with the other girls from the warehouse, you hear Meghan voice so distinctive telling what each girl was going to be up to . I loved how Meghan did the voice of the little girl Addiewas sooo dead on. How Meghan voice did the uncertainty of when Hope meet Addie and how latter Addie started getting more comfortable with Hope. Now when Hope meet Mr Edwards, Meghan was doing the narrating so perfect , I can’t find words to describe it .
The author knew how to grab you from the first scene, when the factory burn down till Hope meet Mr Edwards when his horse bolted. The scene when Hope had to go see her aunt was heartbreaking but I also wanted to grab the aunt and shake her. When Hope was several stated away and she kept on hearing her loves voice , calling her , it was a call from the universe telling her a message
I know Meghan was unbelievable, hope she does the rest of the series

A Classic!

What romantic female does not like the brooding, secretive hero? Well as long as the secrets come out ok in the end! This is a more modern retelling of Jane Eyre but it stood on it's on with the words of Amelia C Adams and the vocals of Meghan Kelly it does not get much better!
Hope has lost her job at the factory along with many of her friends and they are at loose ends. She does not want to go back to her aunt's house, so answers an ad for a mail order bride. But wow, does she get so much more! The home is really an Estate with a capital E and he betrothed Roscoe, is an enigmatic. It seems he wanted more a governess to his ward than a wife.
But things change between them and in the end, the secrets come out! Needless to say it is brilliant and I could listen to Ameilia's stories all day told by Megan!!

Hope: Bride of New Jersey

Hope has come to the realization that becoming a mail order bride may be her only option. With no job, no family to speak of, and not much money left, it may be her only option. But is it possible to find love?

Amelia C. Adams has written a lovely story with just enough twists and turns to keep you guessing.

Meghan Kelly has delivered another top notch performance. I love her different character voices and how she portrays the perfect emotions. Definitely one of my favorite narrators!

New Jersey Bride

My review might be different if I hadn't JUST listened to Jane Eyre 3 months ago. I missed that this was a variation of Jane Eyre in the description when I started listening and started to notice similarities early on. Hope has limited options when the mill she worked at closed and so she accepts a mail order bride position. Everything seems to be going on great until it comes out that her intended is not free to wed after all.
The story in itself is good, but I wonder why the author recycled a classic plot for this series.
Narration by Meghan Kelly was excellent for pacing and character voices and was very easy to listen to.

Great Series, Great Book

I'm really enjoying this series and this book is the best so far.

Beautifully written it's impossible not to care about Addie and want everything to work out for her. There are some great surprises in this story that make it a lot of fun to listen to.

Meghan does an excellent job with the narration, particularly the character voices. She is one of my favorite narrators and this book shows why.
