About this listen

Welcome to Normal, Kentucky - where nothing is normal.

Everyone in Normal is excited for the Hoe Down to celebrate the opening of the new Old Train Station motel grand opening.

The evening comes to an abrupt end when a lightning storm knocks out all the power. At least, that's what appears to have knocked out the electricity. But things aren't always as they appear.

Mae West has a way of sticking her nose where it doesn't belong and finds herself in a dangerous situation when she finds a treasure map that leads to more than just treasure...a dead body!

Hitches, Hideouts, & Homicide

Hitches, Hideouts, & Homicides by Tonya Kappes
Campers & Criminals book 7. Cozy mystery southern style. Best read as part of the series in order.
Another body is found by Mae West in Normal, KY. Mae and her Laundry Club ladies investigate the murder though law officer Hank prefers more caution. Plenty of twists and unlikely unraveling, the story is amusing and filled with southern charm.

🎧 this series so far is narrated by Joanne Parker who does a wonderful job with the various characters from their emotions to cadence. I prefer this method of reading for this author for the editing issues I find in the written versions, though a couple were noticed here as well. I listened to this at a slightly higher speed for me of 1.6 because of the southern drawl.

Good addition to the series. Mae West and Dottie have grown closer in this installment.

Continuation of all the characters we have come to love so much

I loved the story development as we not only solve mysteries but sense a growing problem between the lead character and her love interest.

She’s become too liberal for me

The woman main character in this series has become way to Liberal, not understanding that people who are committing theft should be punished and caught. I couldn’t even finish the story.
