Publisher's summary

The MacTaggert brothers have one task: Find English brides or lose their land!

Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, is a big, brawny Highlander who doesn't like being told what to do - not even by his exasperated English mother who is determined to see her eldest son wedded and bedded. However, when he comes to the rescue of an irresistibly beautiful woman, Coll discovers that he may have found his perfect match....

The challenge isn't that Persephone Jones is famous, wealthy, independent, and smarter than anyone he knows. The problem is that she isn't interested in marrying any man - especially not a hotheaded Scot - even if he is the only man who seems to understand who she really is even when she's not sure herself. When Coll learns that Persephone is actually a lady-in-hiding and someone is willing to kill her for what she stands to inherit...well, Coll has never been one to turn down a fight. When hearts are involved, nothing comes between a Highlander and his lady.

Contains mature themes.

Great story

I enjoyed this series. The first book I liked, but had to force myself through the narrator. I was happy the 2nd and 3rd books had another narrator.
Ms. Morrison does a nice job, but I did notice some recording issues that were a bit distracting at times.
Overall the storyline was different and I liked the McTaggert family.

audio issues, hard to follow story

from what I can remember of the first two books, the narrator was fine. but in this one, you can hear her taking in a breath and like 90% of the time, it's like whomever edited it decided the inhale needed to be repeated. so every time she inhaled, it was sounded twice. it was very annoying.
she was also better with different character voices in the other books. this one just felt like she was just reading it instead of trying to immerse the listener in the story. it was incredibly hard to follow, so what should have only taken me 2 days to get through, took me almost 3 weeks.

Nest book in the series.

This book was the best out of the series. However all around the series was okay. Of you're wanting really romantic steamy love story this is not the series for you. The storyline about the brothers is good but I feel like there was a lot missing. I wish the family would have gone to Scotland together, the parents story should have been explored a little bit more, and all the endings were just cut off in all the books.

A wonderful introduction to Suzanne Enoch

Although I’m a fan of historical romance, I’d never read any of Suzanne Enox books before. I’m so glad a fellow Lisa Kleypas fan suggested I might like her work. It was exactly as advertised. Funny, charming, adventurous, and of course, romantic. I took away one star because the reader of the first book had a lisp. The reader of the last two books kept pronouncing Niall (Nile) as ‘Neil’ and Smythe (rhymes with writhe) as Smith. Annoying. Especially since the pronunciations had been established in the first book. Also, her dialects were all over the place. Fortunately, that didn’t detract from these wonderful stories. Can’t wait to read more.

Enjoyable

I’ve enjoyed this series and am sorry to have it end. All of the characters are likable and well developed. Coll is my favorite brother. Perhaps a prequel book about the Earl’s and Countess’s love story and another about when the family returns to Scotland. I highly recommend the entire series. Narrator is very good.
