About this listen

She's beautiful, street-smart, and hoping to leave her troubled past behind her.

Makedde Vanderwall has finished her studies and is ready to start practising as a forensic psychologist. She's also starting a new life in Australia with her detective boyfriend Andy Flynn.

Hoping to scrape together some extra cash, Mak begins doing part-time work for an infamous Sydney PI. With a knack for investigation and bending the law, Mak might just have stumbled across her true calling...and the career choice that could finally bust up her relationship once and for all.

Then she is hired to investigate the murder of highflying PA Meaghan Wallace. The police believe it's an open and shut case: a junkie street-kid is guilty. But Mak discovers that the case is a lot more complicated...and if the boy didn't kill Meaghan, then who set him up? And how far will they go to keep their guilt a secret?

Critic reviews

"[Split is a] sexy, smart thriller." (Publishers Weekly)
"Covet is a racy and entertaining thriller that contains a villain every bit as sinister as Hannibal Lecter." (The Age)
"[Bolinda Audio's edition of Split is a] gripping psychological suspense story. Tara Moss' narration is lively, spirited, and exceptionally pleasant to hear....Her distinction between psychopathy and antisocial personality disorders is spot-on, while being flawless and tightly integrated into the plot." Would have been great...

The reader was so so... Had a hard time finishing book. It had its interesting parts but few and far between. Too drawn out not enough details pertaining to the murders.

Flat

This is a middle-of-the-road mystery, not very original. It was not helped by the flat narration by the author. Her reading seemed to lack any enthusiasm. I found that I didn't really care about any of the characters.
Looking at Ms Moss' other books, I see she also narrated them. Too bad, I might have tried another one if it had had a different reader.

Sophomoric

So awful it was nearly funny -- and might even have been amusing with a better narrator. But despite frequent cringing, I somehow managed to get to the end: I was trying to determine whether the heroine ever opened her mouth without the listener being informed that "she lied."

Loved It!

This was my first Tara Moss "listen." I liked Hit so much I plan to order the other three offered by audible soon. I gave this book five stars because if a person wants to order every book they have written, then that deserves a "5" rating! I loved the female narration but hated when she was in her "male" voice--pretty bad.

boring

This is the first book by Tara Moss I bought from Audible. The story about the former model turned PI is entertaining at best, but not very original. The characters are flat and the story is predictable. This is the first audio book I downloaded, where I didn't bother to rewind, when my thoughts wandered of, and this happened a lot because the reading by the author herself was so flat and boring and I couldn't tell one character from the other. A mediocre book can be made interesting by an excellent narrator, but this is just an average book read by a bad narrator
