jarring renaming of characters

Enjoyed the story but had to struggle to remember who some of the characters were as narrator changed the pronunciations of most of their names. The frequency pronouncing of Sigimor as Sycamore for example, I would only just realized who she was talking about most times when she spoke of the spouse of the characters, like Jolene. I enjoy books that create a continuing world of stories 3-20 books whatever, but sometimes when a new narrator takes over, they can really diminish the tale.

Wrong narrator

Seriously, why change the narrator at this point in the series. Ridiculous. And ruined the book. And I wonder if HH wrote this entire book tbh. Not only was it not as good as many of the others, but the entire section that explained Gibbon’s brothers marriages was completely wrong. In the overall I did like the book, but since I love the series, this one was a disappointment.

Why change the winning horse in the middle of the race?

Ms. Dawe did such a fine job with the series to this point so it was a disappointment to find Ruth Urquhart as the narrator for the last two entries. Ms. Dawe’s brough, accents and pronunciations were excellent. Ms. Urquhart is not as good but she has improved. The most glaring problem was with the pronunciation of Sigimor’s name. Angela used “Seymour” while Ruth pronounced it as it looks. I was jarred each time Ruth said it and had to think who he was. The humor in this book was excellent. The inclusion of the cat was hilarious. Such a personality! Robert was an excellent villain; one you loved to hate even though he was crazy. And Gybbon was a true, vulnerable hero.

Okay narrator

Great story but the narration almost ruined it. Please bring Angela Dawe back! I don’t know if I can listen to another story read by this narrator

storyline

Can't tell if pronunciations in this book or previous books were correct. Previous books pronounce the name of the Cameron Laird as "Seymour" and this book pronounced it as Sig-e-mour. Also the name of the Cameron keep was pronounced differently. Can you please clear this up for me?

Worse narration

I love Hannah Howell’s writing but this narration was just awful. Every character sounded so monotone that it was painful to listen to.
