Publisher's summary

In High Ten: An Inspiring Story About Building Great Team Culture, Martin Rooney draws from his extensive experience developing top-level teams around the world to help leaders of all kinds foster and sustain winning cultures. This engaging parable shows you that every business, sports team, and family has a culture. Whether you deliberately created it or not, it's always there, and it didn't come with a manual. That's where High Ten comes in. This must-have book is your personal leadership manual. Stop spending your day unhappy or complaining about a dream that hasn't come true. High Ten will help you:

  • Create an environment where your people work toward common goals with friends they trust - and have fun doing it;
  • Develop clarity about the culture you want and put the processes in place to make it happen;
  • Ensure your culture reflects core values and aligns with your organization's mission and vision;
  • Transform your culture into the "immune system" for your team or business;
  • And learn about the "3 Cornerstones of Culture" and eliminate the "5 Culture Killers".

High Ten: An Inspiring Story About Building Great Team Culture is an invaluable resource for all coaches and leaders striving to achieve the highest level of culture - one where everyone feels like a valuable part of the team and consistently produces exceptional results.

Not a boring business book.

This could have EASILY been another "boring business book". Every bit of the wisdom in this book could have been communicated in the traditional format. But...

Quite simply, this is better. I got INVOLED and INVESTED in the characters. That made the information "stick". Stories within stories, plot twists, and all of the things that make up a great fiction novel are a bonus. They're just thrown in for sheer entertainment. But you still get the wisdom. You still get practical information you can put to good use today.

If you own or manage a business or department, this book is for you. There is simply no need for work to be awful. This book will guide you to the promised land of productivity without backstabbing, arguing, lies, finger pointing, and all the other things that serve no other purpose other than to bring down morale.

In a phrase, "humble leadership" is what is needed in the modern corporate world. Both parts are equally important. Yes, you will need to lead. But that doesn't require force. If you know how, you can get your employees to join you in a common goal rather than having to be pushed/dragged where they are needed. And everyone, including you, will be happier for it.

This book gets you there.

The narrator did a great job. The only reason I gave the performance a 4 is that Mr. Rooney has a GREAT voice. It would have been great to hear the book narrated by the man himself.

But the book is exceptional, none the less!

He did it again!

I have read and re-read “Coach To Coach” so many times in the past year. I was so excited to see the release of this book, but worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype I had in my mind. It did. So many brilliant nuggets woven into beautiful stories. I’m a sucker for an inspiring short story, and this is chuck full of them. I also loved the full-circle of these characters. Inspiring as always. Thanks Coach!

One of the best

This book is one of the best stories I’ve ever heard. How it interwove with the previous book, and the small little twist at the end was really good. The life, lessons and ways to build culture are elite, and I could not be more than happy to highly recommend this book.

The story got better the more I listened the lessons and moments shared by them are simply amazing. I coach soccer and was very happy to see that my values are closely aligned with the message in the book.
