About this listen
The breathless finale to the New York Times best-selling Rebel of the Sands series will have you on the edge of your seat until the dust from the final battle clears!
When gunslinging Amani Al'Hiza escaped her dead-end town, she never imagined she'd join a revolution, let alone lead one. But after the bloodthirsty Sultan of Miraji imprisoned the Rebel Prince Ahmed in the mythical city of Eremot, she doesn't have a choice. Armed with only her revolver, her wits, and her untameable Demdji powers, Amani must rally her skeleton crew of rebels for a rescue mission through the unforgiving desert to a place that, according to maps, doesn't exist.
As she watches those she loves most lay their lives on the line against ghouls and enemy soldiers, Amani questions whether she can be the leader they need or if she is leading them all to their deaths.

Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

A Wonderful Conclusion
This trilogy is one of my favorites. And this, the final book, was a worthy conclusion. The story is engrossing, exciting, moving, and thought-provoking. Nankani's narration is perfection, to book. A wonderful audiobook.

Unfortunately, Not Great
I just couldn't get into this, nor could I get invested in most of the characters or keep them straight.
I thought book one was outstanding. I loved it to pieces. Book two was a major disappointment. This was not as bad as book two, but I was hoping this was going to come back and redeem the series. It didn't for me. Sure, there's some interesting stuff that happens, but there's also some long, random, confusing stuff that seemed unnecessary to me. The majority of the characters felt 2D, so it was very hard for me to invest in them and keep them straight. At this point in the story, they should have all left a mark on me, but they haven't.
I'm sad. I wanted to love this. I wanted book 2 to be a fluke or a bad egg, or something that was stretching the story further than it needed to be stretched. I so wanted book 3 to come back and recapture the magic of book one, and it failed for me. It felt like a chore to force my way through it, even though there were a few parts that I did really enjoy. I guess they can't all be a win.

If you start with the print, stay with the print.
I read the first two of this series in print, but decided to try the audio for this because I had a long trip coming up. Big mistake in my mind. It took a kick A heroen from being tough to being terminally surprised and really whiny. I just didn't like the way the narrator read the main charecter. Still, if you started with the adio i'm sure it would be fine. She wasn't a terrible narrator it was just too different from the way my imagination had already formed Amani.
Story was good. I sometimes felt like the way she was wrapping things up felt a bid rushed but she did tie up all her endings which I appreciated.
