About this listen

Callum is at war with the Guild of Arcane Regulation, the organization that governs mages on Earth. He’s spent most of his time lying low and hiding out, trying to understand what he can do and how he can remain free from their meddling. What he’s learned is that he can’t.

It’s time to move from reaction to action, and take on GAR and its evils directly.

These books set the bar high bar and keep hitting that bar. The MC is in the establishment's blind spot and they Just Can't Stand It. I love it.

keep em coming

Loved the divisions of labor and viewpoints presented. I wanted there to be more of it to culminate in juicier dramas of character developments.
The montage was a bit clunky,

Great Exponential Rigors

I love these books. There are so many different things going on with this book. it seems as if they make sense if the world had magic with magical creatures. It takes into account of every action has a reaction. I cannot give more and will not this time... but just know the book is worth it.

these books/stories are just built different

Except for the irritating voice of Lucy, I would rate this book 5x5s. The story progressed evenly and excitingly. The MC continues to outwit the magic cabal, including the highest level arch-mages; while he remains one of the physically weakest mage in the bunch. He manages this by using his few low-level magic skills in unique and cunning ways.

Onto book 4

Keeps the series going nicely

loved whole series listening to it for a second time and it's just as good as the first time.

Pretty good story overall. It's gotten a little repetitive so far but I'm liking the direction the story is going in.

Good Story

The story is great but the narrator makes it difficult to enjoy. The voicing of the main character and typical non-character parts sounds normal but anything else is just off-putting. Any female character either sounds like Mickey mouse or stilted. Non-human parts are just as bad.

Good story, terrible narrator.

i have never encountered anything that even comes close to how cringe the flirting between the main character and her love interest in this book... if i ever hear big man again it will be too soon

More like cringe mage
