About this listen

One moon stand gone very, very wrong....

Magnus: All right, all right, I’ll admit I’ve always been a player in more ways than one. What can I say? Human women love to cheer for me—on the rugby field and in my hotel room after my team, the Edinburgh Rovers, has won.

But my player days are coming to an end. I need an heir—and fast—if I want to hang on to my title as king of the Scottish Wolves. I’ve already decided Tara Hamilton, my new sister-in-law’s best friend, will become my lucky queen. Just one snag in my plan, though...she feckin’ hates me.

All hope seems lost until I “happen” to run into her on a full moon night.

Tara: I have zero desire to serve as an incubator for that ridiculously arrogant Scottish alpha king, Magnus Scotswolf...or have anything to do with his backwater kingdom village.

Listen, I value three things above all else: my freedom, my life among humans in Edinburgh, and my fabulous wardrobe. No way am I giving all that up for an entitled a-hole with a kilometer-long hit-it-and-quit-it list.

My human understands I will never, ever let the annoyingly handsome alpha anywhere near me. But there’s just one snag...my wolf hooked up with his wolf during the last full moon when neither of our humans were looking.

Now...I’m pregnant with the Scottish king’s baby. What will he do when he finds out I’m carrying his bairn...and discovers the huge secret about my hidden past?

Love it!!!

Very excited for this series. I skipped book 1 and took a chance on book 2, I hate that I did that because it would’ve set the stage for Tara and Magnus.

A fun and sexy story!

really enjoyed this story, it was sexy, fun and full of surprises along the way!!

This is Magnus and Tara's story, an uneven match that worked so well for them. Magnus Scotswolf needs a heir asap to keep his rightful throne as a king and he has his eyes set on she-wolf Tara Hamilton unfortunately for him this she-wolf is not going to make things easy for him.

Tara values her independence the most and she refuses the bond with Magnus, it doesn't matter that this sexy wolf makes her hot all over or that he refuses to give up on her. Tara has very good reasons to salvage her independent way of life but when the electricity and explosion attraction between them its too much to avoid, all bets are off.

This was a fun audiobook to listened to and I can't wait to read or listen for more if this series.

that brogue tho

I haven’t read anything paranormal from Theodora Taylor, so I was super excited to receive this ALC from Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review. Her writing style makes it easy to feel like you are in the middle of the story. Her writing is descriptive, easily helping me picture everything. The characters are well-developed and interesting. I love the premise of a werewolf king who is basically masquerading as a rugby player. Definitely makes for a unique storyline. Magnus Scotswolf is a prideful wolf but has a big heart. Especially when it comes to Tara Hamilton. I love stories where a male MC falls first and hard for the female MC. It lets me see a vulnerable side to men that we don’t always get to see in real life. Tara is so quirky and sassy, and I love that about her. Their HEA was a fun one to listen to.
Since I’m reviewing the audiobook version, I must be honest. I would not recommend the audiobook version and suggest reading the book instead. Will Watt was incredible. Magnus is a cocky and demanding alpha, and Will embodied that perfectly. His Scottish brogue was on point. He expertly portrayed every emotion and made the smeggsy times smeggsier. I always enjoy Will’s narration and the way he brings a story and character(s) to life. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about Lacy Laurel. I feel bad saying that because it’s clear she gave it her all. The attempt at a Scottish accent was poor, unfortunately. I’m not good with accents myself, so I’m not judging. I’m sure it’s not always easy to replicate certain accents. However, for me, that took away from the story. In fairness to the fact that this is an audiobook review, not just a review on the story, I feel I must go down in stars to compensate for that. While the story and Will’s narration are each a 5, I would only give Lacy’s portrayal a 2 in my personal opinion. I do however think she portrayed Tara’s strengths well.

Loved the drama between mates

*Shifter
*Fated mates
*Opposites attract
*Surprise baby

After listening to Her Scottish Wolf, I couldn't wait to find out what happens between Tara and Magnus. This story jumps right in with an unexpected coupling and a surprise baby!! What happens next is a battle between Magnus and Tara as she is a firm proponent for her own independence, and he wants to keep her close and safe. There is a valid concern for both and it's for this reason that I couldn't stop listening as I didn't even know how I wanted it to end. What happens is definitely unexpected. I truly enjoyed this on audio. The dual narration was an added bonus. I have always enjoyed listening to anything Lacy Laurel narrates, and Will Watt's voice was so smooth and pleasant to listen to. It's a quick listen and I finished in a matter of hours as I didn't want to turn it off.

All the feels and humor...

3 1/2 Stars
Her Scottish King is book 2 in the Scottish Wolves series. It's an opposites attract/enemies to lovers book with all the feels and humor. You get magnus and Tara in this installment with their explosive chemistry. We also got to see an appearance from Iain and Milly. I can't wait for the next one in the series. A pretty good read.

Lacy Laurel and Will Watt did a great job portraying these characters.

Steamy listen

AUDIO REVIEW:
Her Scottish King was a whole new experience for me because I’m not normally drawn to shifter romances but the blurb really intrigued me and I’m so glad I gave this book a chance. I haven’t read anything by Theodore Taylor but I enjoyed listening to this steamy and entertaining story but I feel I do need to point out this one does end on a cliffhanger.
Will Watt and Lacey Laurel did a great job bringing the characters, the passion and the drama to life.
Magnus Scotswolf is a rugby player who is also heir and leader of the Scottish Wolves but in order to keep control he needs to produce an heir and that’s where Tara Hamilton comes in. He needs a Queen and he has chosen her but she has no time for the arrogant, cocky jerk……
Her Scottish King was an entertaining listen, it’s well written with great characters who have an interesting journey ahead of them.

Love love love love LOVE!! In case you can’t tell, I adore Theodora’s writing. The banter is witty and entertaining and her stories always keep me engaged from page one. I listened to this one on audio and it was perfect! That cliffy at the end tho…. I need more immediately.

3.5 stars

Book #2 in the Scottish Wolves series was definitely entertaining. Tara and Magnus were polar opposite’s, but their wolves couldn’t deny their mate bond. Although I understood Tara’s need to be an independent woman, her attitude bordered on whiny and became a little annoying. Their banter and chemistry was fun to read, and overall I enjoyed this book. The cliffhanger killed me though, and I’m eager to see what happens next!

Will Watt did a great job portraying Magnus. I liked Lacy Laurel as Tara, but I wasn’t fond of her Scottish accent.
