About this listen

He's her best friend. A reformed bad boy turned hot teacher. And after one spur-of-the-moment Vegas wedding...her husband.

Jordan Benoit and Fletcher Landry have been best friends since they were six. He's always been The Guy. When she needed picked up, cheered up, or lifted up - like literally, to see the stage at a concert - Fletcher was the guy.

So when her boyfriend dumps her - on national TV - Fletcher immediately gets on a plane and comes to her rescue.

And when she ends up in a Vegas wedding chapel and needs someone to say, "I do"...yep, Fletcher's the guy. Of course.

Jordan knows what she wants. A life in her hometown. A job with alpacas. And Fletcher. Not necessarily in that order.

They've said the vows. They'd told the world. They've told their grandmas. Forget taking things slow. Forget just heavy petting. Forget any chance of backing out when things get tough. They're going to have to go all the way, in every way.

After all, friends becoming lovers should be the easiest thing in the world. Right?

Sweet friends to lovers

Fletcher has been in love with his best friend Jordan for years. Jordan has been in a relationship since high school and after a botched wedding proposal her relationship has ended. I loved that Fletcher immediately goes to Jordan when she is in need. These two have amazing chemistry and their story was sweet, funny and steamy. I loved watching them navigate from friendship to relationship. These two were hard not to fall in love with. Mollie Stark and Zachary Johnson were both new narrators to me and I enjoyed both of their performances and how much they brought Jordan and Fletcher to life.

Fletcher and Jordan - swoony best friends and (surprise) Vegas wedding romance

Fletcher and Jordan’s story is swoony and narration by Zachary Johnson and Mollie Stark makes it even more delicious. This is book 2 in the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series. Fletcher and Jordan have been best friends since they were 6 years old. When they were 15, Jordan started dating Jason (who is now a rising country star) and they’ve been together for the last 11 years. There was one kiss three years ago stopped by Jordan and she also turned Fletcher down 4 months ago when he asked her to stay with him instead of going on tour with Jason. The story starts when Jason flubs a marriage proposal to Jordan by calling her the wrong name on stage during a televised concert. After watching the train wreck proposal on tv, Fletcher leaves immediately for Vegas to rescue her (because that’s what he does) and the rescuing ends up in a wedding chapel with them getting married. No one in their hometown is surprised that they are married but their path to their HEA, much like any accidental Vegas marriage trope, is how to navigate from the surprise wedding to the true marriage and partnership. This book has the added twist of also being best friends to lovers. The book does a phenomenal job of taking us on the journey of Fletcher and Jordan as they struggle to transition from knowing too much about each other because they’ve been best friends for 20 years to now being married even though they’ve never “dated.” While Fletcher and Jordan follow the inevitable path to being together, it is painfully hilarious but also beautiful to watch their growth and missteps. The story has plenty of hilarity, steamy scenes, sweet moments, and small town goodness. It is filled with loud, larger than life bayou characters and situations, simmering and overwhelming feelings, and so many cute animals, all wrapped up in so much heart squeezing love. The smaller storyline of the petting zoo/educational wildlife sanctuary that started in the first book continues here and I am loving the animals and what the family is building. I cannot wait to see what is next for the rest of the Landry family in this series. And blue food will definitely cause smirking from now on.

Amazing

Why yes, I did finish it in one night!

Amazing, sweet, hot, fun, silly, sappy, did I mention HOT! 😍🔥😍🔥

If you know Erin’s work- you already know, if not- I’d start with the hot cakes series and work your way here! This is my favorite family of hers so far and I didn’t think anyone would bypass the Bradford’s (another amazing series by this author) but the Landry’s have done it!

Forgot I was in my own home

I loved this story! The narrators made me feel like I was right there with them in Autre. The characters have been friend since childhood but he didn’t make a move when he should have all those years ago. Now she has been publicly humiliated across the country and it all he can do to get to her. Fletcher and Jordan are two of my favorites from this series mostly because when they finally get what they’ve wanted, they are not exactly sure what to do with it.

Narrator

I like that there is a male and female narrator but they have to when a male character is speaking use the male narrator and vice versa. I don't like when the male narrator does "female" voices because they really don't. Also this male narrator had weird intonation

Liked the story but

the narration style was disappointing. The Prologue was narrated in Duet style, the rest was by POV. I don't understand why the producers switched. Should have stayed with the Duet format to enhance this book. With that said, enjoyed the family banter in this story, especially chapters 8 & 11.
