About this listen

Nothing interferes with Shane Hollander's game - definitely not the sexy rival he loves to hate.

Pro hockey star Shane Hollander isn't just crazy talented, he's got a spotless reputation. Hockey is his life. Now that he's captain of the Montreal Voyageurs, he won't let anything jeopardize that, especially the sexy Russian whose hard body keeps him awake at night.

Boston Bears captain Ilya Rozanov is everything Shane's not. The self-proclaimed king of the ice, he's as cocky as he is talented. No one can beat him - except Shane. They've made a career on their legendary rivalry, but when the skates come off, the heat between them is undeniable. When Ilya realizes he wants more than a few secret hookups, he knows he must walk away. The risk is too great.

As their attraction intensifies, they struggle to keep their relationship out of the public eye. If the truth comes out, it could ruin them both. But when their need for each other rivals their ambition on the ice, secrecy is no longer an option...

A new author for me!♡♡♡♡♡

I have had the pleasure of read and listening to lots if not hundreds of MM romance books. While this author is new to me I have found her work to be among some of the best writers of MM romances. I'm talking about the talented Lucy Lennox, Eden Finley and the lovely sisters Becca & Krista Ritchie. This book contains a bunch of hockey, which some sports romances don't. It is so well written, it gives the history of both Shane & Ilya and the progression of their relationship. I found myself finishing this book in one day, it was that good. I highly recommend both this author and this book series to others. Happy Reading book lovers!

Great story. Great narration.

I had mixed feelings about the first book in this series. I picked up the second one because there was a sale. I am very glad that I did. i enjoyed the characters so much more in this book. The dynamic was more interesting to me.

Why enemies to lovers relationships seem more realistic to me than a pro hockey player meeting a love interest at a smoothie joint, I have no idea.

Narration also seemed more comfortable in this book too. I have already purchased the next book in this series, and I will be probably keep reading/listening as long as the characters are still engaging.

Hot AND sweet

I really liked this story. It was super spicy and engaging and I loved the ending. It hit all the right notes for me.
The narrator was good but spoke too slowly imo- I sped it up to 1.1 and it made all the difference. Listen to it!

I freaking loved this

Omg I loved this so much, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Russian character in a book before and omg it made me so happy and not only that but the bi rep was just immaculate, I just loved this so myth that there aren’t enough words to describe it.

Love Ilya

Absolutely love Ilya! So direct and funny, I was laughing throughout the story. And I adore Tor Thom’s voice and almost anything he narrates (unless he’s doing a New York accent, see Kip).

Fun and romantic story with questionable narration.

I thought the story was great; a slow burn but without a bunch of “misunderstandings”. The narrator was definitely not my favorite. If he read without doing voices it would actually be better! It was hard for me to remember Shane and Ilya were young because Tor made Ilya sound like Dolph Lundgren. Shane’s dad sounded like the Other Father (Coraline) and his mom sounded like she was inebriated. It was super distracting. Very good story, love the HEA, narration was bad but not insurmountable.

Um, yeah. I liked it....

The text I sent my book bestie upon finishing this book:

my mind is 100% in denial that Heated Rivalry has ended. i'm so in love the characters and their story. i felt like i was just following along with their life stories, so even though i finished it last night i keep thinking "oh i should catch up with ilya and shane" LIKE THEY'RE REAL PEOPLE. 😞 and the worst part isn't that my subconscious has been tricked into thinking that i have these awesome new friends who also happen to let me watch them have sex on occasion- it's the UTTER sadness I feel when I remember that they AREN'T REAL. AND that THEIR BOOK HAS ENDED. 😭😭😭😭 What do I read now?? I need something on par and that's going to be hard to find... That book was TOO GOOD! 😭😭😭

Great love story

This is such a great love story. Ilya and Shane will forever be one of my favorite couples. Two hot hockey players keeping a secret from the world for years. Is it just sex? They’d like to think so. It was so worth the wait for them to say I love you. Hockey and romance combined make this better than a hat trick!

I really loved this book

I really enjoyed this book initially I did not like the narrator but he grew on me and I see that the sequel is out and people are complaining about the new narrator whom I've never had problems with so now I'm not sure if I'm going to read the 2nd book but I probably will Anyway this was such a wonderful story so different I really liked it definitely worth a credit
