Willard's contemporary romance novella, Hearts in Florence, which is best enjoyed with an Italian Merlot.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Something to make your heart flutter!
I beta read this book for the author but later listened to it and loved it and not only because it had a glimpse of a couple of my favorite characters from another book! The narrator Willard chose for this one has a sweetness to her voice. She does need to work on her "Male" Voices but overall god job. Raven and Pierce made sure to give the reader all the feels.

Short and sweet
Two lonely, American souls find one another, quite by accident in Florence on a romantic holiday. Will this accidental tryst make its way back to America? Or is it just a fling?
I don't feel I can reveal anymore without *spoiling*as it is such a short story and the publisher's summary reveals quite a bit.
The narration by Anna Castiglioni is solid and went well with the book.

A Good Romantic Story
I enjoyed this story with its twists that don't really come out until the end. Our lead characters are art collectors and end up purchasing the same artwork. They end up sharing a weekend in Florence, and things get quite interesting.
I did not care for the narrator, her voice did not seem to reflect the emotions of the story and she just seemed to read quickly.
I enjoy this author's kindle books and it was a treat to listen to her book in audio format.

Great chemistry between characters.
Good love story but the narrator was horrible, that's the reason for stars was given.

A fling in Florence
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would let there be more background on both main characters. I would have liked to see some buildup to their meeting.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Surprise, and I thought it was cute.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Pierce and Raven are walking around the city and enjoying Florence both from an artistic point of view.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
f it had more depth, yes. feel like this was a great outline for a full length novel.
Any additional comments?
It was a cute short story, but I really wanted more. More background, more getting to know you before we fall right into bed. More info on who Pierce is.I enjoyed the narraters voice changes and tones. Also very easy to listen to.
