About this listen

Being close to God means communicating with him—telling him what is on our hearts in prayer and hearing, and understanding what he is saying to us. But how do we hear God's voice? How can we be sure that what we think we hear is not our own subconscious? What role does the Bible play? What if what God says to us is not clear?

The key, says bestselling author Dallas Willard, is to focus not so much on individual actions and decisions as on building our personal relationship with our Creator. In this beloved classic, which now includes a foreword by James Bryan Smith, you'll gain rich spiritual insight into how we can hear God's voice clearly and develop an intimate partnership with him in the work of his kingdom.

The book itself is 5 stars, i have read it and it is incredible. The audiobook is horrendously bad. The narrator is one of the worst i've ever listened to. Pauses in the wrong places, unable to properly read a sentance. The abbreviation Jas which is for the book of James, he instead throughout the entire book says: Jason.

Worst narrator i've listened to

Dallas Willard is one of my favorite authors but the odd pauses and irregular intonation was too distracting!! I am grateful the is available on Audible with a different nzrator.

Very difficult narrator to listen.

Great book, information and author, however, narrator CLEARLY has NEVER read the Bible. I find it hard to believe that Audible couldn't find a narrator to narrate a book ABOUT God who has actually read the book OF God! Over and over again this man referred to the book of JASON. Jason 1:7, Jason 1:23...etc. Clearly the quotes were from the book of JAMES! I wonder how many non Bible Reading people will look up these quotes only to find NO book of Jason in the Bible. Do better Audible! I may be nitpicking but this is the written word of GOD we're talking about.

Narrator doesn't know the Bible

It is a shame how such excellent content can be distorted by a narrator who clearly didn’t understand what he was reading, injected awkward choppy pauses throughout his reading, making it difficult to follow the meaning. And the narrator even referenced books of the Bible that don’t exist apparently misinterpreting the abbreviations for certain books (the book of Jason?! Really?).
It’s painful. I’d recommend buying a hard copy unless Audible re-releases it with a better narrator.

Exceptional Content - poorly delivered
