About this listen

New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg is back with a new Kincade sister and a swoon-worthy football player in an all new stand-alone romance that will make you believe in first crushes and true love.

I’ve signed numerous players to my family’s agency - I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy.

The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.

Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.

I tell myself work is the reason I can’t get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.

Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

***

I’m supposed to hate her.

I’ve been told so time and again for 10 years - her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.

But that’s not what I’m feeling now.

Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.

Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.

Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can’t resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I’ve always feared were lies.

Fantastically intoxicating!

This entire series has been amazing to listen too. I really enjoyed this story! Family drama is something I am very familiar with so I could very much relate, but what really Drew me in (see what I did there) is the intense intoxicating connection two people can have. My heart is STILL racing. Thank you for another great story K. Bromberg!

5 Dreamy Drew Stars!

5 Dreamy Drew Stars! Another fantastic listen by K. Bromberg. This series gets better with each one. Scorching hot chemistry, witty banter and all the feels. Drew is absolutely swoon worthy but has the weight of the world on his shoulders. Brexton is feisty and strong and perfect in many ways for Drew. Throw in a second chance type storyline and it’s PERFECTION. ABSOLUTELY one click this AMAZING story. Narration is fantastic!

Second chance l💓ve?!?

I'd like to introduce you to...
Drew Bowman aka-Dreadful Drew
AND
Brexton Kincade aka-Bratty Brex
...childhood friends and each others secret crush when they were kids.

Drew and Braxton's parents were best of friends as these two were growing up. They were all so close they even vacationed together each year. That is, until something happened that drove an enormous wedge between the families. Then to top it off Braxton's mother lost her battle with terminal cancer and the Kincade family gathered together to support each other and time marched on.

Fast forward ten years to Braxton and her three sisters running a successful sports management agency with their dad.
Additionly, Drew has followed his dream to play in the National Football League as a Quarterback.

While Braxton is doing a little recruiting one day she finds the Quarterback practicing on the field after a game. Unbeknownst to her though it's not the first string QB that she's been recruiting that's practicing but the second string QB, who is non other then Drew Bowman. Her curiosity is peaked and she seeks him out to catch up. Little does she know the troubles the Bowman family has suffered through or where they've been through the years. There's just this undeniable connection that these two still feel for each other and now that they've reestablished a connection the pull is strong. There have been lies told though and enormous hurdles to get over. Will their second chance have a chance or will it be snuffed out by the lies? Grab a copy of this un-put-downable book and find out.

I loved the narration of this book. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden brought these characters to life. Great job you two! 💞

Enjoying the series

I am really loving this series and this book is no exception. Braxton and Drew have history, both good and bad , that is hard to get past but the attraction they feel can’t be ignored. The return of the Kincaid sisters is a nice tie in to the other book’s in the series and brings a continuity that I appreciate. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are two all-time favorites for me so this was a perfect pairing with an amazing story to produce pure magic. On to the last in the series.

A BITTER-SWEET SECOND-CHANCE SPORT’S ROMANCE

Drew and Brexton’s parents were the best of friends and both families holidayed together with their children.. right up to the kid’s teen years.. when a scandal hit that tore the families apart. It was at the same time that a young girl’s tender teen heart was crushed by a boy’s awkward overwhelmed feelings. Ten years on and Brexton (aka Brex) is a bold, beautiful, driven Sports Agent for the family business and NFL Quarterback Drew is chasing his dreams and trying to get a reputation for himself - rather than be tarred with his father’s scandalous one. And, when Fate brings Drew and Brex together again, chemistry is thick in the air and their teen attraction rekindles into a very adult craving. Which splits loyalty as the fireworks flare.. which turns a ‘forbidden’ romance into a mission to finally uncover blame and truth.. which will turn a once-doomed love story into a happily ever after. It’s not going to be easy.. Drew’s fighting hard to get his talents recognized, he must fight the secrecy and shadows in his family and he will have to go through emotional turmoil and personal growth before the “I don’ts” can become “I dos”.

I did enjoy this second-chance sports romance, however I also got a wee bit frustrated with the torn ‘rinse and repeat’ internal turmoil Drew has as he battles the ghosts of his father’s sins which is stopping him from moving forward with Brex. While he struggles with his head vs his heart, Brex continues to support and push him towards his dreams, she holds on to hope for their relationship, she makes some well-planned moves and she continues to do her job of recruiting one of Drew’s flirtatious teammates. But how many times will Drew be able to push her away? Joe and Maxine narration was perfect as they brought the characters, the feels, the drama and the dreams to life in this dual POV love story.

Worth a credit? Yes, it’s an enjoyable addition to the Play Hard series as a tortured hero fights ‘the pull’ of love.. and the heroine doesn’t let go of her second chance.

A very satisfying HEA

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book as I had mixed feelings about the first 2 in the series. Book 1 was ok (story was good, narration was better) and book 2 was a bit of a let down (story was lacking depth but the narration was good). Book 3 is the best so far IMO. The story was there - angst, drama (but not too heavy or overdrawn) lust, love, anger, ALL the Feels and the narration made it even better. Also some very 🔥🔥🔥 scenes that were very well done! Great story, great narration (I love when Joe and Maxine team up) overall a solid 4 stars. I will definitely be listening again and am now actually excited to try out the next book in the series.

What a disappointment

Hours of high school level romance with periodic graphic sex . Six hours in, waiting for any compelling plot elements. Snoozer; not worth a credit.
