About this listen
The evil witch's plague on the Back Country is over, but a new terror now lurks in a distant land.
Years have passed since Marlene's death, and Gretel, unable to cope with her mother's descent into madness, has fled the Back Country for the solitude and anonymity of the Old World.
But one quiet day in the remote village of Stedwick, Gretel is taken by Gromus, an ageless mythical figure known only by locals, but whose reputation and power is steadily growing.
It is now up to Hansel to save his sister and the ancient land of their ancestors from a horror as old as the book that unleashed it to the world.

Story
To the uninitiated, Savannah shows only her bright face and genteel manner. Those who know her well, though, can see beyond her colonial trappings and small-city charm to a world where witchcraft is respected, Hoodoo is feared, and spirits linger. Mercy Taylor is all too familiar with the supernatural side of Savannah, being a member of the most powerful family of witches in the South. Despite being powerless herself, of course. Having grown up without magic of her own, in the shadow of her talented and charismatic twin sister, Mercy has always thought herself content.

my least favorite so far. . .
narrator was changed to a man which made sense because the book is told from hansels point of view. i thought the book was boring to be honest and couldnt wait for it to end so that i could move on to something else. i did like the 1st 2 books in the series so i already bought the next book. hope its better than this one and that doesnt turn out to be a mistake.
