About this listen
Gil Mason is a simple guy with complex problems. Cross Phillip Marlow with Ceasar Milan, The Dog Whisperer, and you create a new bread of private eye: courage of a Pitbull, heart of a Labrador. The second book in the Gil Mason series.
Gil and Max are hired by a high-ranking politician to find a kidnapped little girl. But things take a deadly twist when the kidnapper turns out to be an assassin for a sect of the notorious Bloods street gang. The action is fast and the characters real as Gil races from Aurora to Chicago, fighting villains and time, praying that he can save the child and unravel the strange reasons for her abduction, all while keeping his K9 partner Max from eating him.

It is always difficult to read about the "Heros" who end up dying in situations like this. They work so hard to do right and then are no more.

Great story! Hero dog tale that combines all the ways that man has utilized dogs in war, police work & rescue with many elements of the greatest canine classics of old. I’ve currently completed two out of the seven books in the series but the story of the main character seemingly growing in his Faith makes the series that much more compelling.

Tired of religious preaching in book, but lOVE DOG
I enjoy the story, the narration and the dog. Hate the "preaching" tone alot. If I want to go to church I go. In listening to the book, I really don't need it.

An intriguing crime, love and dog story
This one shows how the justice system fails us when a person simply has GOOD INTENTIONS. I am always amazed at the thought process of the dogs and how it makes sense. Thanks GREAT READ
