About this listen
Private Investigator Regan Reilly is back in another "fun, delightful, and entertaining mystery, enhanced by quirky endearing characters" (WashingtonTimes.com)
PI Regan Reilly and her husband Jack, head of the NYPD Major Case Squad, are in Los Angeles where Jack is attending a business conference. After the meeting they plan to vacation in California so Regan can show Jack her old haunts and introduce him to friends who didn't make it to their wedding.
One friend Regan gets in touch with is in distress. A health nut, recently turned vegan, - and a "health coach" to boot, Zelda suspects she is being gypped by her business manager who had her invest in a new line of vitamins. Regan and Jack look into Zelda's business deals. What they uncover is a scam extending up and down the coast of California, involving people whose only concern is the health of their pocketbooks!
Carol Higgins Clark's fans are sure to enjoy another "fast-paced mystery with unexpected plot twists and Clark's trademark humor" (The Daily Beast).

At the heart of Mary Higgins Clark's stunning new novel of suspense is a brutal murder: that of Gary Lasch, a respected and successful young Greenwich, Connecticut, doctor and hospital and HMO head. Not Gypped when you are done!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook to all my friends. It keeps moving and is enjoyable to listen too. It is a believable story and easy to follow.
What did you like best about this story?
This story did not require heavy thinking. You could listen and relax at the same time.
What does Michele Pawk bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love the different voices, expecially the personal assistant!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I started to listen at bedtime and stayed up until it was completed!
Any additional comments?
As with all of Carol Higgins Clark's books, this was short and to the point. It doesn't go on and on and get boring. I love the style with which she writes and always enjoy the happy endings. Love it with Jack coming to the rescue, even tho she doesn't really have to have him there.

Light Read
What did you love best about Gypped?
It was a very easy light read/listen. Very relaxing if that's what your looking for.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Norman for sure. Loud, cocky, and just plan nutty.
Have you listened to any of Michele Pawk’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Just other RRM's.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the letters were read.

Wow, was this bad
Would you try another book from Carol Higgins Clark and/or Michele Pawk?
Maybe Carol Higgins Clark, not Michele Pawk
Would you ever listen to anything by Carol Higgins Clark again?
Would only consider if performed by someone else, but I'm probably done with this series
What didn’t you like about Michele Pawk’s performance?
It was awful. So jerky, almost like it was the first time she was reading the book.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Very disappointed.
Any additional comments?
Carol Higgins Clark's books have never been thrilling, just short, goofy reads. But this was so bad, the characters were incredibly contrived. The plot was so simplistic it was laughable. Really a shame that she doesn't have the talent her mother has.
