Publisher's summary

A generous Alpha with a tragic past and a young Omega with hopes for the future overcome mistakes to heal a pack and find happiness together.

Life has thrown more than his fair share of challenges and losses at Alpha Morgan Peters. Despite his pain and disappointment, the shifter picks himself up and does right by his pack. As the years pass, Morgan establishes himself as a leader who is as kind as he is strong and Golden Valley prospers. But it isn't until an Omega shifter enters his life that Morgan sees hope for a future where he can be more than an Alpha.

When Psi Omega Ricky Marx goes to Golden Valley as a representative of his home pack, he is thrilled to find his mate - the beautiful, powerful Golden Valley Alpha. Unfortunately, their first meeting doesn't go well, and overwhelmed by his mistakes, Ricky sees no choice but to flee.

Morgan's past makes him struggle to absorb more loss. Ricky's youth makes him struggle to find his voice. But if these two shifters can overcome their challenges and come back together, they'll heal the Golden Valley pack and fulfill their destiny.

Enjoyable And Cute.

I have been a huge fan of Cardeno C. for a very long time now, and have so many of his books still in my library for my future listening. His story are amazing. This story was enjoyable and cute. I like the follow up to this series. Ezekiel Robison was awesome in bringing these characters to life. The only complaint I have is that Cardeno makes us fan wait to long before he put his other new books on adubile. 😔. At one time he was releasing his books much frequently, but now no. Believe me I know, because I'm always checking for new releases by him. I don't know what has happened regarding this.🤔That being said, I recommend if your wanting to listen to a enjoyable, cute story, this is one.🙂

Ricky and Morgan

Holy cow these two were a hot mess! In some ways, Ricky is strong and smart, and in other ways he had me shaking my head. Mistake after mistake. It was like he was TRYING to screw up his life. I love CC's writing. Golden Valley has been on my list of 'to buy' books for a while now. I've read and reread the two other books in the series several times and love them but it always felt a bit incomplete without having this one. When Ricky is introduced in Red River he grabbed my attention. In Golden Valley, we see that he's still very young but he's wise and has inner strength. He also has convictions. He wants to share himself with his alpha, not just any alpha. Morgan has a life filled with tragedy and a few concerns about bringing Ricky in as his mate. Both of these guys make huge mistakes, but given their youth and lack of experience, it makes sense. I like that once Morgan acknowledges that Ricky is his he goes to incredible lengths to seek his forgiveness. Ricky takes on every problem as his fault. Once these guys started to really communicate things come together in a beautiful way. I loved that Morgan got the life he always dreamed of having, a mate and a family of his own.
Highly recommended author and series

Not my favorite but still really good

First, let me say how absolutely PSYCHED I am to see Cardeno C writing again! I love this series – I probably read or listen to the entire shifter series and the Mates series 3 or 4 times a year. It’s a definite comfort for me and I am so grateful to have more to add in to the mix!

I was happy to see Ricky get his own story and I found Morgan to be a fabulous mate for him.

There are things I didn’t love – how long they were separated/how little time they spent together on page being the biggest issue. There were things I loved – how Ricky just goes for it and essentially demands to be mated and I loved seeing the folks from Blue Mountain again.

Overall, Red River is still my favorite in this series but I think it might tie with Blue Sky for next honors.

Highly recommended to fans of the author, the series, fated mates, mpreg, shifter stories and paranormal romance in general!

Audio

Ezekiel Robinson is definitely a narrator I trust. He does a good job with the story line but I found his lack of unique voices a little disappointing. Everyone (mostly) sounded the same.

It was a good way to listen to the story and he’s still a great narrator whom I will look to in the future, but it wasn’t my favorite from him.

Miscommunication eventual leads to a happy ending.

It took a bit to get there, and Ricky tested my patience to the limit, and I wish a few scenes had been more fleshed out, but Ezekiel Robison made this an absolute pleasure. He's a fantastic voice actor, and I just enjoy listening to him so much.
