Publisher's summary

A tale from the Jane Yellowrock universe.

Rick LaFleur, former New Orleans undercover cop, now a black were-leopard stuck in human form, is at the PsyLED academy, training to become a special agent of the government agency that would, at one time, have preferred him to be dead, on a slab, and under autopsy. When he discovers that students have gone missing, he and his team go on the hunt to find out why.

Short and sweet!

Any additional comments?

This is a fun short story, but be aware that it is an extract from one of the other books, not a new story.
Also be aware that while some of these 'shorts' are an hour or more long, others are rather less than that.
Very enjoyable listen anyway!

A Fascinating Tale of Ricky Bo's Becoming PsyLED

Faith Hunter continues to engage my interest in Jane Yellowrock's world in new and different ways. This short story about Rick Lafleur, excellently narrated by Khrisine Hvam, as usual, actually has caused me to like Rick more than I ever have. Thanks, Faith!

All about Rick.

All about Rick. This was a good short about Rick's first few months at his new job with Sol, Pea, Brute and at Syled training academy. Pretty good back story that makes the full books more understandable. Stand alone if you understand the Jane Yellowrock series. Happy listening.

I loved it!

I loved it!

This was such a surprise. I found these books and thought they were just more stories about Jane in New Orleans. I had no idea what a treasure trove I had found and what I was in for. I was so happy at the end of my first book to find that these were stories of Jane’s history and how some of her backstories played out that are just referenced throughout the series. I also enjoyed hearing the stories from Molly’s perspective. It was money and time well spent.

Must Listen

This is a story from Ricky-bo's perspective and narrated by Khristen Hvam. So far, she has done all of the Yellowrock series. She's so good in this one that you think someone else is narrating.

School is never easy for anyone seen as different

What did you love best about Golden Delicious?

How Rick, Brute, and Pea with the help and guidance of Soul were able to start school late and get an assignment before finishing school.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brute because he is such a push over with the women and because he was starting to act like a team member.

What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is just so professional at her job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it is a little over a hour long.

Any additional comments?

Love to see the dynamic of this team come together.

I was a bit lost

I wish this had an episode number on it. It contained characters & referenced situations with which I was unfamiliar. Other than that, excellent, as usual.

Ricky Boy story

I always was a big fan of Ricky Boy. He was a darkly handsome man with a Southern Louisiana accent and a way with women.
He flat had it going on and the paranormal females put a bullseye on his back.
The narration was spot on.

3.5 Stars - It has Rick, but I wanted MORE Jane

It is good to get a story about Rick, but I'd rather (in these short stories) to ONLY have stories focusing solely on Jane. It may just be me...but that's what I want.
