About this listen

When Jack Reacher Makes Mistakes, Who Handles The Fall-Out?

FBI Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar’s off-the-books assignment leads them to the surviving members of Jack Reacher’s elite military unit. Five years ago, Reacher sorted and destroyed a team of arms dealers before he moved on. But he made mistakes. Now, his bad luck and trouble legacy plunges Otto and Gaspar into the minefield of a grudge war between Reacher’s fearless old friends and chilling new enemies.

When his enemies take women and children hostage for ransom, Kim’s relentless pursuit leads her deeper into the deadly war Reacher failed to finish. Mercenaries and Kim’s unwavering heart push her through - until she meets the wrong woman with nothing to lose.

If you miss Jack Reacher....

The first couple books took a little bit to get the feel of Agents Otto and Gaspar of the FBI. But I like them and they’re funny together. This is book 4 (including two short stories) by Diana Capri. Add the very controlled and dangerous Naglee to the mix and it gets fun, and tense as the agents find themselves still trying to learn about Reacher, but at the same time, team up with Naglee in aReacher style rescue of sorts. #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Read by a robot

The narrator sounded like a robot when she did certain characters, it almost made the book impossible to finish. And once again Reacher is EVERYWHERE!
I thought their task was to finish a file on him for an important position? If this is the case, why do the 2 FBI agents has to keep things under the radar? It is such a secret squirrel mission that other FBI agents can't know what they're doing, can't even access FBI files for more information, it's just Too unbelievable.
And did I mention that Jack Reacher is supposedly EVERYWHERE?

Horrible narrator

The story is interesting seeing other characters come in from other books, but I truly hope the next book in line doesn’t have this lady narrator. Absolutely killed the book for me.

Narrator horrible

I love the storyline but had to suffer thru the horrible narration. I will not listen to any more read by this narrator.

Narrator

Why the change? Narrator, the narrator in this book could have done a better job; after listening to books 1 through 3, going to book 4 just wasn't the same. I will have to sample the books from now on, and if book five sounds anything like book four, this will be the end of this series for me. I will have to move on to another author. It took a lot just to stay with it because of the voice of the narrator; at times I could not tell if she was supposed to be a man or woman, which made the story hard to follow.

Good story, bad performance!

I enjoy anything Reacher and like the follow up to some of his adventures…but the narrator for this novel was the worst I have ever listened too. Sounded like a third grader reading the story. Also, I do not really appreciate having to pay a full credit for the little novellas between the novels when they could be added to the novels as a prologue or epilogue.
I’m on the road for 20+ hours a week and a 2 hour (or less) book isn’t worth the credit.

Get Back Jack

I loved the story but the performance was at time, very mechanical, like a machine reading the words. Also didn’t care for the interpretation of the male characters. Otherwise, good stuff.

Good story but…

I have listened to all of the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child and thoroughly enjoyed them. Capri’s continuations of the Reacher series are clever and well connected. The narration was tedious and robotic. I’m glad this story was on the shorter side.
