About this listen

Special Agent Lexi Mills chases the criminal who killed her partner in this thrilling novel of grit, betrayal, and retribution.

“Lexi Mills is like a fresh new female version of Jack Reacher. Awesome character. Action-packed series."USA Today Bestselling Author Jason Kasper

After a lifetime of fighting to get what she wants, Lexi Mills has finally made it into the elite ATF Special Response Team. But when a wrong move during a bomb disposal operation takes half her leg—and her partner’s life—Lexi must shoulder the guilt alone.

Now there’s only one way to put the past behind her: she will hunt down the man who killed her partner.

When Lexi is sent to a border town to investigate a tragic explosion, something seems off, and it’s not just the mysterious local detective on the case, Noah Black. The deeper Lexi and Noah dig, the more they uncover a conspiracy reminiscent of the same bomb blast that changed her life.

And when the case gives Lexi a chance to track down her partner’s killer, she’s torn between following orders and chasing revenge…

The first novel in a highly-anticipated collaborative series, FUZE is a propulsive action thriller with an indomitable new heroine, perfect for fans of Lee Child and David Baldacci.

This is a great book

I was not to sure if I was going to pick up this book, but now that I’ve read it I’m glad I did. I could not stop listening to it. All of the MC were well written, and the story was well written. Even the ending was a bit of a surprise. I am looking forward to the next book.

Not a female Jack Reacher, but still great!

Lexi is a female Jack Reacher if Jack Reacher had a home, a family, a job, a steady girlfriend and 1 leg. I’m a huge fan of Stacy Lynn Miller’s books and Lee Child’s character Jack Reacher, so the description really had me excited. While it was still a great, dramatic story—I think it was a bit misleading to compare Lexi Mills to Jack Reacher.

Great Book

Really great book. The way the author laid out the story you were waiting for the next shoe to drop, and when they did it took you completely by surprise. I liked the misdirections, just enough to keep you interested in what will happen next I did not plan on staying up overnight to finish the book but that’s how good it was. It kept me coming back hour after hour.

This left a heck of a cliffhanger and thankfully I don't have to wait long. I recommend this audiobook 100%

Not developed, preaching and boring

The person who read the book did an excellent job, however, could not save the story.

Couldn't finish

The narrator has a really good vocal range, portraying all characters well. There just wasn't much to work with; the story is trite and cultural issues are hackneyed. For example, the LBGTQ issues are overdone and overdramatized, with many scenes played out at length not moving the story along at all. It is as if the point is to dramatize homosexuality and homophobia just for points, not to be a part of the story. Texan men have handle bar mustaches, all wear cowboy boots and drawl "little lady" tropes. Racism is a frequent mention with the same phrases used constantly, again not moving the story along.
I'm sure there is a good mystery/suspense story in there somewhere. I just couldn't find it.

What happened to Brian Shea

We get enough wokeness crammed down our throats in the media and movies, I wasn’t expecting this from Shae (not even sure how many of books he actually writes anymore) I was just looking forward to an exciting, relaxing book like the Penitent One or Kill List. I have enjoyed Brian Shea’s books, but this is pitiful.
Just wasted $15.00.
