Inside, you will find 165 trivia questions to challenge students, the avidly curious novice, and above. This audiobook covers a broad spectrum of thought-provoking questions, such as:
- Which planet is the hottest in our solar system?
- What year was the first visual of a Jupiter lightning strike?
- What is the next gold rush?
- Which planet is referred to as a failed star?
- What year did Earth have her very first picture taken?
This audiobook will answer these questions and so much more. Explore fascinating celestial objects and astronomical achievements of the space programs.
Todays' mission: Challenge your knowledge of the Universe.
In Fun Facts Space Trivia 3.0, you will discover:
- Another sphere in our solar system has liquid water!
- Find out what risks the Luna dust has on space equipment.
- The 1994 fireworks on Jupiter.
- The importance of micro-gravity for medical research and innovation.
- Hundreds of thousands of dollars burned up in Earth’s atmosphere.
- We discuss g-force and the maximum your body could handle.
- Astronomy timeline from Mesopotamia, to the Romans, and into the modern world.
- One meteor shower peaked with 100,000 hitting Earth in a single hour.
Our Solar System is one of the most stable places in the known universe and still poses enormous threats. It seems as though we make discoveries every day, and outer space keeps the spectacular show going, no matter how dangerous. Pantheon Space has also included a bonus chapter of unsolved mysteries. I don’t think many people know that the moon is not actually a perfect sphere; it is in fact shaped slightly like a lemon with bulges on both sides. Or that a day on Mercury lasts longer than a year. These are just a few of the many interesting facts that you will discover about space in this audiobook. If you’re like me, anything space related will fascinate you; there is just something exciting about the big wide world out there beyond Earth, the many unknowns, and the interesting facts that are being discovered on a daily basis.

This book is an overview of both the history of aliens and UFOs, as well as a review of hidden aerospace and propulsive technologies. Where did these technologies come from? And how have they developed in the intervening years? Also, I try to answer some questions of how likely some of these claims are - because some things having to do with UFOs and aliens are much more documented than others. There are also many alien-related and secret programs that most of you listeners may have never heard of. The most interesting ones are summarized here.

What is the nature of space and time? How do we fit within the universe? How does the universe fit within us? There's no better guide through these mind-expanding questions than acclaimed astrophysicist and best-selling author Neil deGrasse Tyson. But today, few of us have time to contemplate the cosmos. So Tyson brings the universe down to Earth succinctly and clearly, with sparkling wit, in digestible chapters consumable anytime and anywhere in your busy day.

Neil deGrasse Tyson has a talent for guiding readers through the mysteries of outer space with stunning clarity and almost childlike enthusiasm. This collection of his essays from Natural History magazine explores a myriad of cosmic topics. Tyson introduces us to the physics of black holes by explaining what would happen to our bodies if we fell into one; he also examines the needless friction between science and religion, and notes Earth's status as "an insignificantly small speck in the cosmos".

In 1959, the Soviet probe Luna 3 took the first photos of the far side of the Moon. Even in their poor resolution, the images stunned scientists: The far side is an enormous mountainous expanse, not the vast lava plains seen from Earth. Subsequent missions have confirmed this in much greater detail. How could this be, and what might it tell us about our own place in the universe? As it turns out, quite a lot. Since its formation nearly five billion years ago, our planet has been the sole living world in a vast and silent universe. Now, Earth's isolation is coming to an end. Over the past two decades, astronomers have discovered thousands of "exoplanets" orbiting other stars, including some that could be similar to our own world. Studying those distant planets for signs of life will be crucial to understanding life's intricate mysteries right here on Earth. Icy, rocky, sometimes dusty, always mysterious – comets and asteroids are among the Solar System's very oldest inhabitants, formed within a swirling cloud of gas and dust in the area of space that eventually hosted the Sun and its planets. Locked within each of these extra-terrestrial objects is the 4.6-billion-year wisdom of Solar System events, and by studying them at close quarters using spacecraft we can coerce them into revealing their closely-guarded secrets. This offers us the chance to answer some fundamental questions about our planet and its inhabitants.

On March 21, 2013, the European Space Agency released a map of the afterglow of the big bang. Taking in 440 sextillion kilometers of space and 13.8 billion years of time, it is physically impossible to make a better map: We will never see the early universe in more detail. On the one hand, such a view is the apotheosis of modern cosmology; on the other, it threatens to undermine almost everything we hold cosmologically sacrosanct.

Story
On March 21, 2013, the European Space Agency released a map of the afterglow of the big bang. Taking in 440 sextillion kilometers of space and 13.8 billion years of time, it is physically impossible to make a better map: We will never see the early universe in more detail. On the one hand, such a view is the apotheosis of modern cosmology; on the other, it threatens to undermine almost everything we hold cosmologically sacrosanct.

Since its 2009 launch, the Kepler satellite has discovered more than 2,000 exoplanets, or planets outside our solar system. More exoplanets are being discovered all the time, remarkable in their variety. Astronomer Michael Summers and physicist James Trefil explore these remarkable recent discoveries: planets revolving around pulsars, planets made of diamond, planets that are mostly water, and numerous rogue planets wandering through the emptiness of space.

Earth evolves. From first atom to molecule, mineral to magma, granite crust to single cell to verdant living landscape, ours is a planet constantly in flux. In this radical new approach to Earth’s biography, senior Carnegie Institution researcher and national best-selling author Robert M. Hazen reveals how the co-evolution of the geosphere and biosphere - of rocks and living matter - has shaped our planet into the only one of its kind in the Solar System, if not the entire cosmos.

The ordinary atoms that make up the known universe - from our bodies and the air we breathe to the planets and stars - constitute only 5 percent of all matter and energy in the cosmos. The rest is known as dark matter and dark energy, because their precise identities are unknown. The Cosmic Cocktail is the inside story of the epic quest to solve one of the most compelling enigmas of modern science - what is the universe made of? - told by one of today’s foremost pioneers in the study of dark matter.
