Loved this one!!

Loved this story, action and how it played out. I was extremely into the book, the voice of the narrator, (which can be difficult at times) and loved the ending.

Stockholm syndrome?

I liked the story however my first thoughts were Stockholm Syndrome? The action was great and so was the storyline for the most part. I liked it overall. I will listen to it again. FYI the narrator sounded like she’s whispering most of the book.

the story is awesome

great story, engaging and hard to put down. But, the narrator takes some major getting used to. I have no idea why on earth she was whispering and it is absolutely annoying. But, besides all that, I managed to get into the book and really enjoyed it.

My first CL Hart book, that's positive as I'll look for more of her work.

Narration Diminishes A Remarkable Story.

In all of my years of listening to audio books, I have never heard such a poor narration.
This is an action-packed military novel, with WLW faintly woven through. As there is lots of action, this novel is not the place for whispering, or as Seinfeld would say “a low talker’. I have since listened to sample books with this narrator, and there is no whispering in them.
The MC is Kenzie, a juvenile delinquent, who has a choice of military service or jail time, when she is apprehended for stealing a car.
She chooses the military, and excels so quickly through the ranks, that she is recommended to join a covert, military group. She is then declared dead, loses ties to her everyday life and goes undercover.
In the group she is trained as an assassin, and becomes one of the best.
On her latest assignment, to dispose of a young American, student, studying in Mexico, Kenzie quickly realizes, that not only should the student not be killed, but the military has used this ruse to dispose of her.
I have the ebook, and I’m so glad I had read the novel first, before listening to this narrator.
I would definitely recommend getting a hard copy or ebook, and this story will not disappoint!
I really hope this author continues writing. She has an amazing command of the written word!

Great book ... hard to hear

This was a really good listen, but the narrator whispered the narrative a lot. It was hard to hear. Still worth the purchase.

Betrayal at the highest level...

From a Distance by CL Hart is a first for me in the gay/lesbian genre. I realize this is the classification but I'm not completely sure why. This book is an outstanding military thriller. I purchased this when I browsed new mystery releases and this book came up. I'm so glad I got this, this book has it all. Juvenile in trouble a caring judge, money, greed and betrayal.
I could not stand the narration. I'm not sure if she was trying to sound secretive or what but what ever it was it was terrible. She also spoke verrrry slowwwwly and I listened to this on 1.5 speed in order for it to sound like a speaking voice.
There are a few light romantic scenes which I fast forwarded through. Not for any other reason then if I'm listening to a military book I really don't care who is in a romance with who. If I want romance I would get a book in that genre.
As a military thriller this book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Amazing story, horrible narrator

This book is by far the most fantastic I have read. However, the narrator was horrible. She would whisper and it was hard to hear her. But this book is phenomenal I recommend either reading it or listening.

Exciting page Turner ... Action Packed

I devoured every word and I highly recommend it to everyone. "From A Distance" is a action packed lesbian military/ops novel. I have read a few with same theme. However this one read believeable. F/F romance was important part of story but not the entire story. Worth price or credit.

Intense Action!

Two women running for their lives. But who is the real target? one of them or both of them? The depth of the conspiracy runs deep and there are only two people on this long journey that mat be able to help. How do you cross a boarder when you don't exist and can't use your own ID? What a great book!
The one thing that annoyed me through the entire book was the narrator whispered every single word of the book that was not part of a conversation.

What An Outstanding Book!

Ok, so I purchased and read this book originally when it first came out and I loved it! Needless to say, I was thrilled to see that there was an audiobook version...OMG, How great it was to be able to picture these wonderfully created characters and listen to the story as it played out the way it was written. It’s a great military, sniper mystery thriller and be prepared it is lengthy. I would recommend this to anyone who loves these types of books.
Now for the Narration of this book ... I don’t believe I’ve listened to anything prier by this narrator. So I don’t know if this whispering is her normal voice when she speaks or if it was just for this book. Either case, it was a bit difficult and distracting for me during the first few chapters to get past the softness of her voice. But, I will say as the story progresses and other characters were introduced. It became easier to fallow and it didn’t take away from the story for Me! Even with that, I still would recommend this audiobook! I look forward to listening to more by CL Hart!
