Great book if you liked the movie. Can’t wait for the follow ups! I loved the cliff hanger.

Very enjoyable

This is a fun vampire novel even if you haven’t seen the original film. If you have seen it and we’re a fan, this is a real treat.
It adds texture, gives back story on Jerry and his ghoul.

It maybe also explains what Evil Ed did that sets the events of the (now hard to find) sequel, “Fright Night 2” in motion.

Is there another book on the way? I hope so.

A fun romp

They went back and re-recorded a few lines to cut in, and towards the end of the book those moments pulled me out of the story. a little more finese needed on the editing/mixing. Other than that it was a lot of fun! and yes Chris Sarandon narrating!

Great story with a few editing/mixing issues.

Ok, I wasn't wild about the storyline- I'm a huge fan, and I LOVE Tom Holland, but, while most of the book is a pretty close retelling (and expansion) of the movie, there is a weird dangling storyline that definitely threw me off, (sequel?). But I would pay the entire purchase price just to hear Chris Sarandon recite that ONE LINE.... "Welcome to Frrrright Night" with those iconic trilled R's. I screamed out loud when we got to that part- And I'm pretty sure Chris knew people were going to react that way. He is clearly delighted to get to recreate that perfect line. He is the reason that this title really works for me. I'd still like the book if Tom read it himself, but with Chris, I'm in love. Any fan of the movie needs to have this in their collection. Tom Holland, Chris Sarandon, we need more please!

CHRIS SARANDON?! Say no more....

Chris Sarandon is great as narrator. if you saw the movie, you know this story. But new scenes arevadded in to carry forward the planned trilogy. I hope the sequel books are published, I want to see where this goes.

Movie novelization with extra, nice 80's throwback

‘Fright Night: Origins’ read by Jerry Dandrige himself Chris Sarandon?! **Chef’s Kiss**

I have always loved Fright Night and it’s great to see the events play out from a different perspective.

A bloody hood time.

Chris Sarandon hit this out of the park with his narration, it really gives depth as you follow along the story. #FrightNightForever

everything I imagined

Chris Sarandon, as the narrator, made this story!! He is a great bard, fantastic in acting out all of the characters. It's such a fun listen. I am a big fan of the 1985 movie as well.

Nostalgic

I really enjoyed this book, though it felt billed as an original novel that was a prequel (hence the Origins subtitle and the fact there is already an existing novelization written at the time of the film’s release.) That said, this book eschews most of what was in the previous novelization, superseding it will this new version. It hews very close to the film and only adds a smattering of new material and expanded character backgrounds, all of which are a lot of fun. It also sets up the story for a sequel that appears to vary distinctly from the Fright Night 2 that made it’s way to film. Curious to see where this story goes.

A novelization, not a prequel

Exactly Fright Night, but more of it! Fans of the movie will not be disappointed.
