The concepts in these works by Nietzsche stood out to me as a way of explaining what many today call “manifesting”—we all have this force within us that can drive us to meet our goals. Essentially, anything is possible as long as we have the will. The dense information in this collection was easy to understand thanks to the relaxed and easy nature of the narrator’s tone. These works are definitely worth a listen, especially in today’s world.

Old-fashioned manifesting

Friedrich Nietzsche has always been an excellent writer. However, this work of art was brought to life by the Narrator Gregory.
I enjoyed the introduction (about Nihilism) and now have a whole different perspective on many things!
It was worth the time taken to listen, and I'll do it again!

Excellent listen!

Excellent selection of works. Sadly, I feel the narrator's style is just direly miscalculated for comprehension of this sort of dense material, and his aloof news-anchor-trained cadence has him rushing terribly quickly past Nietzsche's most profound statements, but then pausing for affected embellishment in the most pointless of places.
He has a nice accent But I wish his emphasis and speech patterns reflected and aided any comprehension of the texts, rather than making the task much more difficult.

Narrator affectation creates an uphill battle

Very good narration. And I enjoy Nietzsche's writing. However, his sister is known to have been married to an actual Nazi and she butchered a few of her brother's publications to meet her own goals. I believe some people went to great trouble to restore his original works, but I'm skeptical of this particular collection

Might not be the original publications

Narration was fine but super fast.
I had to slow the playback just so I had time to absorb the points.
Also, it’s annoying as $hit to have this translated from Russian to English, yet Latin and French are read untranslated. Kinda stupid.

So, what I learned about good ol’ Fred is that:
-He thinks very highly of himself.
-He HATES Christianity and Buddhism.
-He speaks in absolutes, as if his thoughts are the final say as far as humanity is concerned and everyone either agrees or are “pernicious blockheads”.

A very intelligent and extremely knowledgeable man who lacks wisdom and is absorbed by the type of distain that only the wholly excluded types of personalities are capable of…in my estimation.

Nietzsche is a self absorbed tool.

Most of the quotes are in French, and they are so badly read that they are reduced to gibberish. Obviously most of the readers didn't care to understand them, or someone would have noticed. They are often crucial to the understanding of what Nietzsche is saying, so it is a pity. I had to listen to each several times to make some sense of them, and I am French... If you insist on keeping the original text, you should at least find a narrator that doesn't butcher the language, or add an English translation at the end of each quote. Otherwise, this is an interesting collection...

Translate the quotes!!!

Friedrich Nietzsche’s’, The Will to Power is one of the most essential concepts in the philosophy of Nietzsche. And is one of his more complicated concepts, because it was never defined in his works, leaving his interpretation open to debate. He fell ill in his mind and his sister Elisabeth and friend Peter Gast took possession of all his unpublished notes and edited them to publish, The Will to Power. One of my favorite phrases from Nietzsche is “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche was very difficult to understand. He wants us to go beyond the concept of good and evil, in other words he rejects the division of good versus evil, he has a way of delivering destructive blows to the great philosophers of the past. In Thus spoke Zarathustra, Nietzsche presents the journey of a Persian prophet Zarathustra. Who spends his time alone in the mountains for ten years and grows tired of his wisdom. So, he begins to go down to humanity to teach them what he has learned. Genealogy of Morals by Friedrich Nietzsche is a response to a book by his former friend Paul Ree, on the origins of morality. It’s his most sustained and cohesive work. He sets up a contrast between what he called “master” morality and “slave” morality. Very interesting listen. The narrator, Gregory T. Luzitano is very well read and a pleasure to listen to.

Great Listen!

Loved the narration of this book! Nietzsche is pretty dense and can be hard to understand but it was so helpful to have the audiobook version. The narrator makes it easy to listen to, enjoyable, and helps to make it easier to understand, especially when you follow along in print. I would definitely listen to other books by this narrator.

Excellent Narration!
