Publisher's summary

Rachel Valentino is anxious to get back to business when her bistro is finally repaired after being damaged by a tornado. But everything is turned upside down when her self-centered older sister unexpectedly sends Amy, her pre-teen daughter, to live with Rachel without permission or foreknowledge.

Fate brings handsome and kindhearted Seth Garrison, an old high school crush, back into Rachel’s life. But with a bistro to run and the responsibility of surrogate motherhood suddenly resting on her shoulders, the chance for romance seems slim.

When disaster strikes, Rachel must find a way to face seemingly insurmountable challenges. To start over in business, master instant parenthood...and accept unconditional love.

Sweet story with a twist

This was a very sweet story about Rachael and Seth. Fourth of July at Barbecue Corral is sort of a second chance love story as they knew each other in high school. They are establishing a lovely friendship when life throws lot of curves their way. There is a tornado that destroys Rachael’s restaurant, and she is rebuilding it. Rachael’s niece Amy comes to live with her. More twists and turns kept me interested in the story. There is no sex or cursing in this story, and it is slightly religious and has some angst. I enjoyed listening to the story. The characters were well written.

Good

Delightful with good Narration. Rachel trying to get her business up and running again. To find her self dealing with being a surrogate mother to Amy. Doesn’t seem like an old crush could bring romance into her life with all this going on.

Clean romance

This is a nice story and had some unexpected turns of events so it wasn't all predictable. I felt like some of the dialog was stilted or unnatural but I'm not sure if it was the writing or the audio presentation or both that made it feel that way. I think the narrator did well as a narrator of the story in general but not as well delivering the dialog in the story. It is a quick read or in my case, listen.

Some religious themes

No sex, language or violence

Heart warming story

It all started with a tornado..,Rachel’s bistro is heavily damaged, but the insurance has paid so everything is getting back to normal with repairs almost complete. Then her selfish, actress sister calls and drops a surprise. When Rachel goes to pick up her niece at the airport, she meets a former high school mate, Seth. Sparks fly and the pair begin to date but there’s another surprise in store. The new relationship may not survive. Sweet story with heart warming HEA.

good

This is another great story. This series can be read as a stand alone. As it does not pick up where the other left off. When you get your life thrown so many curve balls. She did not give up.

Sweet, Clean, and Beautiful Romance!

This is the third book in the Holiday Corral Romance Series. This is a clean, contemporary romance. Rachel and Seth's story is beautifully written, sweet, and heartwarming. Seth is handsome, supportive, and caring. Rachel is beautiful, strong, and caring. Amy is a lovely pre-teen girl. The story has family drama, and twists and turns. I loved to follow them in their journey. Kathleen Li did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Makes for a Great Summer Read!

A tornado destroys her restaurant. Then Rachel Valentino's celebrity sister goes missing, and she is left taking care of her heartbroken niece. And what of her old high school crush, the handsome Seth Garrison, who has just now moved back to town?

Fourth of July at Barbecue Corral captures author Irene Onorato's signature style: sweet romance intertwined with the threads of action, tension, and conflict that I so love. Together with Rachel's restaurant suffering a terrible loss of assets after a tornado and her famous sister disappearing in the middle of a vacation, I was always wanting to know what would happen next.

I also loved Seth! He and Rachel together, along with the twists involving Rachel's sister and niece, were my favorite aspects of the story.

Fourth of July at Barbecue Corral makes for a great summer read for those who love Christian fiction and sweet romance.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via StoryOrigin. All thoughts and opinions expressed are completely my own, and I was not required to leave a positive review.

Fun and clean book

Another fun story by this author. While calamity happens the author still teaches us about faith, love, perseverance and taking care of family.

I enjoyed the story and the happy feels but also found myself shaking my head at the selfishness of Amy's mother.
