About this listen

A fallen foe. An unprecedented attack. An unlikely ally.

When a mundane is brutally murdered by a Lycan, the entire community erupts in fury, and an investigation is launched to uncover the truth. The situation escalates when Dimitri launches a surprise attack on the Shadow Bone clan. Has an old enemy risen from the shadows, or has the previous clan head orchestrated these events to throw us into chaos?

Tensions reach a boiling point when the witches reveal their new security force, acting without the Twilight Conclave's approval. The delicate balance between factions teeters on the edge of disaster, and my world is thrown into further turmoil when a mortal attack shatters my family. But as all hope seems lost, an unlikely ally steps forward to offer assistance.

Can I work with Rene’s oldest foe to save what I love most, or are we doomed to ignite a supernatural war that will consume us all?

Find out what prowls the shadows of Black Blossom County by listening to Forty is the New Dead, the new Paranormal Women's Fiction series readers are comparing to Shannon Mayer, K.F. Breene, and Victoria Danann.

Warning: Cliffs Ahead

Gleeful Goblin Review: Oh wowsers, this is a lot of action and story progress in a very short amount of time! The addition of the Lycans into the battle of the species is a new wrinkle AND a benefit simultaneously. It reminded me a good deal of the movie Underworld, which I un-ironically love so I was having a blast listening the whole time. The story will be over before you know it and leave you anxious for the next installment because the end of this tale is a cliffhanger that I can't wait to resolve. 5/5 Stars.

Has me in complete tears 😢 😭

Well there are so many twists you'll think you're reading a pretzel. Bonus you'll likely end up in tears too. I really feel bad for how much Raven goes through. I wouldn't have been able to handle a tiny fraction of what she went through.

Wonderful story!

I absolutely loved everything about this book. The strength shown by the different women throughout the story is truly remarkable and I can’t wait to read or listen to the next one. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves strong women roles in the heart of the story. All of the death and other gory stuff is a bonus.

New Problems, Old Enemies

Katie Hagaman continues to surprise me with her various voice variances for new characters introduced in this 7th installment of the Magical Midlife Death series. The emotions in this one are heightened and heartbreaking which she did an excellent job portraying the devastation. I was left in tears by the end and can't wait to find out what happens next.
