Forsaken Trail

This has become one of my favorite series! I absolutely love the story of Aria and Brody, in one of my favorite tropes~ accidental pregnancy. Aiden Snow and Maxine Mitchell did a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life!

The Red Cadillac

i stumbled on Devney Perry while looking for other books narrated by Jason Clarke. .Some one dubbed this series Runaway. And yes all the main characters are runaways but the Red Cadillac is the glue, the catalyst, the Main character.
This is Aria and Brody's story. It is not as inventive as the others and the narrators are good they are not as good as Jason Clarke,
The red Cadillac has now traveled to Arizona and has not managed to get to California yet.

Anything by Devney is always a one click! This book didn't disappoint and was an incredible continuance of a perfect series. SO excited for Cara and Karsons story!

Love this series

Every book gets better than the last. This story might be my favorite so far. Witty banter, laugh out loud moments, and the best ending; what’s not to love. Looking forward to the final road trip.

One night stand leads to more!

Forsaken Trail is the 4th book in the Runaway series by Devney Perry. I love the premise of this series so much: “one car, one cross-country road trip, five stories about six runaways finally finding home!” In the author’s note it says how this series was inspired by her love for The Boxcar Children series and wondering whatever happened to those kids once they were adults. I loved those books growing up too and was so excited for this series because of that!

This is a hate to love, turned “be my fake date to a wedding”, turned one-night-stand, turned surprise pregnancy, turned “move in with me” romance! And I loved every minute of it! There is something about the way Devney Perry writes surprise pregnancy and surprise baby romances that just always work for me, she always make me question if it isn’t a trope I actually secretly love because hers always end up being my favs! 😅

We met Aria in the previous book when the red Cadillac was left with her in Oregon. And now its turn for her roadtrip and we follow as she heads off from the Oregon coast to Arizona to see her twin sister Clara and her nephew August. Clara and Aria spent most of their teen years in the California junkyard with the others and haven’t looked back. When she arrives to visit Clara, it means she also has to see Brody, Clara’s billionaire boss and friend. Brody and Aria had a terrible first meeting about a decade ago and neither are that happy when Clara pushes them to attend a wedding together. Brody is to attend the wedding of his ex-fiancé to his younger brother and Clara convinces him he should take Aria as his fake date. To their surprise, they actually have a good time together at the wedding and end up sleeping together after! When their one night stand turns into a surprise pregnancy a couple months later, Brody and Aria find themselves wrapped up in one another’s lives.

I really enjoyed Aria and Brody’s energy together, their hate to love vibes from the start and then the fake dating at the wedding. They had me laughing out loud and I loved Aria at the wedding. I really liked that once Brody learns about the baby, he is all in. He refuses to be an absent father, like his parents, and wants to be a part of their child’s life right from the start. He asks Aria for 1 year with him: move to Arizona, live with him while pregnant, stay once the baby is born, and wait for him to gain access to his family’s business (after his upcoming birthday) before they make plans for after. He buys her a flower shop! Aria is used to doing things on her own, so I liked seeing how she had to make room in her life for his help.

Adorable

Aria Saint-James was on a getaway bringing the Cadillac that started this series to the next person, her sister Clara and Nephew August. Clara's broody boss would not be around so it sounded like a perfect time for her. Until Brody Carmichael's plans change and he is in need of a date to a wedding, unfortunately for both of them Clara is sick and volunteers Aria to go in her place.
Aria and Brody cant stand each other. Aria thinks he's spoiled and rude and Brody hates that he gets called out on everything by her.
While at the wedding they get to know each other better and end up having a real good time.
When Aria gets home she finds out she had gotten pregnant and the story goes from there. I do not want to give anything else away.
This book was so sweet, Aria had grown up from nothing and worked for everything she had had, and Brody had always gotten what he wanted and could buy anything. It was really cute seeing them come together and made each of them who they are. They are both stubborn and strong and had been through so much but in their own way. We find out what had brought the girls to the junkyard in the first place and their story breaks my heart the most out of all of those kids. I cannot wait until the next book.

Enemies to lovers with a pregnancy! SIGN ME UP!

Well, I absolutely loved Aria and Brody. After getting a hint of their dislike for one another in Quarter Miles, I knew Devney Perry was going to give us a great enemies-to-lovers romance! We get this impression that Brody has grown up with everything, while Aria grew up with nothing. Yet Brody was also lacking something that’s so important during childhood. I think that’s what really made this story special to me. Aria and Brody come from such different places, but had fundamental needs not met during their childhood. They both endured trauma on very different levels and that impacted who they were as adults and how they handled the situations that were thrown at them. I think this is why Brody and Clara become such close friends, even when Aria doesn’t get it. He has more in common with them than Aria understands. The way Aria holds herself while playing Brody’s fake date in the beginning, had me falling in love her strength and snark. That scene was so damn satisfying. As the reader, I knew this was the first turning point, that moment where the two enemies realize there is more to the other person than what they thought. To me, that’s the best part of an enemies-to-lovers romance–that moment where the reader knows the characters are figuring out that maybe they don’t actually hate each other as much as they think. That just maybe, they don’t actually know the other person as well as they thought. When the story got messy, you still know that the characters were coming from a good place. Simply put, I just adored them and the journey they went on!

I’ve been curious about Clara and Aria’s story ever since we got introduced to them in this series. I needed to know what happened to them and how that brought them to the junkyard. Finally, I got some answers in this book, and it just adds more to the depth of all of these characters. I just love them so much. There is something about the way they grew up, what they’ve overcome, and how they’ve flourished despite all of the things they had to deal with. The fact that these experiences are still impacting them makes it that much more realistic. The way the negative things impact them, but they still carry on with life and carve out a world to fulfill their own needs. I feel like I have so much to say about this book, because of the overall series theme. All these women that grew up in a junkyard together finding their HEA?! How amazing is that. Every book is touching and has so much depth. I wildly rooting for these characters to overcome the obstacles and find the happiness that they deserve, yet did not get during childhood. They are survivors at their core, and I think that has made me so invested in each and everyone of these characters. I cannot cannot wait for Dotted Lines, when we finally meet Karson, the only guy that was in their group. The Cadillac will finally be back where it’s supposed to be, and I have a feeling that it’s going to be a real emotional ride for Clara.

Another great book from Devney. The narration was awesome as well. I’m hoping there’s more to come from this story. Great job

Loved Brody and aria great enemies to lovers. Wish there was more spice but it was great either way.
