About this listen

IT HAS SURVIVED.

At a research station in Antarctica, scientists discovered a strange and ancient organism. They thought they could study it, classify it, control it. They couldn't.

IT HAS THRIVED

Six months ago, a secret paramilitary team called Unit 51 was sent to the station. They thought the creature was dead, the nightmare was over. It wasn't.

IT HAS EVOLVED

In a Mexican temple, archaeologists uncover the remains of a half-human hybrid. They believe it is related to the creature in Antarctica, a dark thing of legend that is still alive-and still evolving. They believe it needs a new host to feed, to mutate, to multiply. They're right. And they're next. And the human race might just be headed for extinction...

Excellent performance by Neil Hellegers

An exciting follow-up novel to Subhuman. In Forsaken, the reader finds out more about the terrifying WW2 plot involving a secret group intent on resurrecting an ancient entity. be careful what you wish for.

Suspenseful

Enjoyed the story line. I initially thought I wouldn't just because of how out there the story was, but it grew on me.

Fantastically but together!

Fantastic read! Within the first & second books in this Unit 51 series, I’m amazed & Love the way the author has incorporated nonfiction according to conspiracy theorist with fiction. Can’t wait to read the third installment! I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

Excellent Sequel

Lives of the surviving chacters go on, but are soon brought back together as the evils of the past reach out to haunt them.

This series is excellent, a clever read on combining science and esoteric thought into an amazing story with more "oomph" than most.

Thank you for the human narrator

The second book in the series is very good. I struggle with overlooking smart people being dumb though. Booksmart Versus Street Smart I guess. Other than that, it’s a good book with a pretty interesting storyline. I can’t say enough about the narrator though. He does a great job and has a wonderful voice.he makes great character distinction, including female voices without it being over the top irritating. I will follow this narrator a bit and see where it takes me.

It's the end of the world and I don't care

This is book two in this series with threats to the human race, alien creatures, evil terrorists. The stakes are pretty high... and yet... I find myself not caring. I felt like this after book one and chalked it up to lots of setup for the next volume. Unfortunately, I was no more enthusiastic after listening to the second volume. I am disappointed. I really wanted to enjoy this story, but it is just not pulling me in. I think I am done with the series, which is something I typically don't do.

The most annoying part is that I can't really tell you why I don't care for it.

I hope those of you who do give this series a try really enjoy it. But I'm afraid I won't be joining you. Good luck.

Should have listened o book 1 first.

Just didn’t gel for me. Didn’t hold my attention like I had hoped. Decent, but not awesome.

And We Thought They Were Mad 1st Time!

Excellent book. Quite a few returning characters. I have only two books by Michael McBride, but if the first in this series are any indication of the quality to come, then but them now!

Also, buy the Audible version of this if you can. I highly recommend it.
