Publisher's summary

Footsteps in the Poison Ivy Patch is mostly a collection of political and satirical commentary, with a few gallant attempts at genteel observations. The highlight, though, is a picturesque critique on the United States, taking, past, present, and current issues and exposing the deceit and follies that have repeated themselves, starting from the founding of the United States to the current day.

This collection of haiku represents the author's tangible loss and emotional regret at the deprivation of the liberty protected in the experiment of the constitution.

Trump is the swamp

These simple Haiku lines reveal the State of the Union that Trump has put us in. Deceit, Deception, Distraction and Distortion.
Neil Friedman puts into words, the chill, despair and loneliness that our not so popularly elected President Trump has caused us to live in. The last poem in this collection sends the very message our country needs. Well done, Mr Friedman. Thank you.

A witty comment on American politics

In this disarmingly economical style which is the strentgth of the haiku expression, the author allows himself in few well chosen words to comment with a great accuracy the political reality, in which the United States have plunge in those last years.

More relevant than any tamed columnist, more lucid than any professional politicial openant blinded by their own ideological fantasies, refusing to give up to any political correctness lazyness, that Friedman deploys his wit in each of his poem. He defends only one cause, the cause of Liberty, the only cause worth fighting for.

Let us which this anthology of poems will not be the last thing we will hear of this author!

Scathing observations of Trump and the Congress.

A president who is a national humiliation and a Congress best suited to fortify it’s own wellbeing. The political pendulum seems to be at the apex of an arc. The author is quite patriotic and darkly humored.

Excellent Political Haiku

This is a brilliantly written haiku - politically incisive and biting. A bold and daring look at a bizarre presidency.

Interesting take on the state of the union

Mr. Friedman makes some pointed remarks at our current situation, and does it a very unusual and inventive way. He is right on with his take on the DOJ and Mr. Barr, and his insight into our wannabe King Drumpf is great. I'm not much for poetry but this was thoroughly enjoyable.
