Publisher's summary

If you never fooled around with someone of the same gender, did you even go to high school?

Peyton

My whole life I’ve had the pressure of being Marcus Talon and Shane Miller’s football prodigy. I’ve been destined to follow in my NFL-playing fathers’ footsteps since the day I was born. I usually thrive under pressure, but as senior year looms, it all gets too much, and I need an outlet. The last place I thought I’d find my release is at Levi Vanderbilt’s graduation party. In his bed. With him.

It’s a one-time thing. An experimentation. And while it was fun, we agree that being with guys isn’t for either of us. I’m happy to accept that until he turns up in California.

I haven’t had to think about him for four years, but now I can’t get him out of my head.

Levi

Coming to Franklin University for grad school to follow a boy I hooked up with once is the stupidest thing I could have done.

We said that high school didn’t mean anything, but the truth is, that night made me realize who I truly am, and since then, I’ve been trying to find that sense of freedom again.

I’m hoping it can be with him, but everything I’ve heard around campus points to Peyton not having the same life-changing revelation I did.

And if that’s the case, did I just move across the country for a straight guy?

An incredible listen

Fantastic narration- holy hotness in the spicy scenes!
Some laugh-out-loud moments with the snarky comments between characters. I absolutely loved Levi & Peyton’s story and how Finley included members of the extended family who we’ve read in her other books.

Obsessed

I have loved everything I've read by Eden. One of those is the Fake Boyfriend series. When I saw this book was one of the kids from one of those couples, I couldn’t wait to read it. It was absolutely amazing. And the fact we get to see the parents and enjoy their same sense of humor was perfect. Can't recommend this series enough.

When I saw Tim Paige was the narrator, I knew I had to get the audio. He did an amazing job like always.

FU I will miss you!!!

I really enjoyed this even though it was another football story. This is Marcus Talon’s boy and it was good to have them in the story as well.

Tim Paige did a superb job, as usual, with the narration!

Don’t miss this series there are many great characters!

Some Characters

so I liked the story overall but I hated that Tallon or Miller (can't remember which) was voiced like some twink and not the dudebro he should've been. I know it's been 20 years since their story but there's no reason his entire demeanor should've changed. That was disappointing. but otherwise I liked the story and I liked the characters.

Pretty Good ending to the series

Eden's books are hit or miss for me - some I love so much it hurts, others not so much . I liked this book a lot. Although I have some issues with the machinations they are purely personal and don't really have an impact on the writing or story . What I like about it is the lack of exaggerated angst. Yes the MC's have internal and external conflict but they also face it and make attempts at resolution.

Definitely a 4 star book

Peyton and Levi were so cute together!

I absolutely loved this story. I really loved the connection Peyton and Levi felt for eachother from the beginning of their somewhat awkward foray into their first sexual experience with someone of the same gender, and how each tried to play it off as not being a big deal to try and basically look cool in front of the other. Them reuniting years later and them both still feeling that pull to the other showed how strong that connection was. I loved their romance, not only was it filled with heat but humor as well. I loved their banter, and that their friendship was very much core to their romantic relationship. I enjoyed both their personal struggles as well, and thought it was done well without being overly angsty. Peyton’s family was amazing as well, I loved the tie in of the uncles I know from other books and the way Levi incorporated right into this chosen family after feeling so separate from his own. The epilogue was full of humor and fluff too which I loved. And Tom Paige did an excellent job narrating. Overall, a very fun listen.

Peyton and Levi

"𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡, 𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚."

Football Royalty by Eden Finley is the eighth book in the Franklin U series which is Peyton and Levi's story.

OMG!! Peyton and Levi's story is so entertaining and filled with laugh-out-loud banter.

Peyton and Levi have a moment together in high school that affects both of them but not in a good way. Years later Levi transfers to Franklin U to try and clear the air between him and Peyton and possibly have a second chance together.

I absolutely fell in love with this book from the very first page. Peyton and Levi are perfect for each other in every way. Peyton assumed he knew exactly what he wanted until Levi came back into his life and threw it all out of wack. The chemistry and heartfelt feelings between them could not be denied. Miller and Talon are hilarious as parents and I can not wait for more of them in Brady's book.

Audio... Tim Paige did an awesome job with the narration of Football Royalty and really brought the characters to life and makes you feel like you are part of the story.

5 Maple Leafs (2022 Top Read) for Football Royalty which contains... mm, sports (football), second chance, frenemies to lovers, one-night stand, dual first-person point of view.
