About this listen

For Blayne Keller, being in the wrong place at the wrong time just might turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to her. Once she stops running for her life.

A typical day at a Chicago travel agency turns deadly when Blayne Keller witnesses a mafia murder. Overnight, her life is turned upside down and she is thrust into WITSEC, the Federal Witness Protection Program, against her wishes. But the mob is determined to keep her from testifying and has someone on the inside leaking information about her every move. Only Alexi Nikolos, an alluring but dangerous WITSEC Inspector with an agenda of her own, can keep Blayne alive - but it's not an easy task when the sparks between them are flying faster than the bullets aimed at their heads.

Masterful writing and narration

I throughly love Ms. Baldwin’s books. Her characters are real with flaws you may see in every day life; making her books wether read or listened to enjoyable. As you think the story is doing to and Ms. Baldwin adds another twist. It was an even greater pleasure to hear Ms. Mukavitz perform. Out of all the audio books I’ve listened too she was the best. Switching from Geek to American to a male then a different male can not be easy and doing it so seamlessly was remarkable. As to the plot... it’s a must read. It keeps you reading after the lights go out and making it hard to get up the following morning with just a few hours of sleep. READ THIS BOOK!!! You won’t regret it,

Didn't hold my interest

I stopped listening a little over half way through, I had enough of Blayne begging Alexi to sleep with her. It got very tedious and I began to want the killers to get her.

Attack and Defend

Flight Risk is an interesting Audible of mystery and romance. Blayne and Alexi are thrown together in a life or death situation. They have a mutual attraction and it is evident. The two are in close quarters all and then the book changed for me. At first, the hard to get was cute. As it continued and continued it became unreal and at one point when totally out of character for Alexi IMO. At that point, I turned off Audible and read two other books deciding if I would finish or cut my losses. I did finish. The book was well written. I was not drawn in by the narration which magnified my issues.

Story was far fetched, but narrator ruined it!

What did you like best about Flight Risk? What did you like least?

The story was okay. Hard for me to finish because the narrator was horrible. No emotion and tones of their voices were not believable.

it's a good book

I don't review a lot of the books I read. what is the reason I am today here ya go.

I was looking for a new book and I always skim the reviews and this one had some good ones but this one person was talking all this CRAP about it not being any good. So I bought it anyway because I love reading and figured I could read our not but that. comment ticked me off. so I normally do this with anybody that starts off so I will read the first few chapters and see if it's for me.

does it start out slow: yes
does it get better : yes after about the 4th or fifth chapter

Loved this Story!

Great story and characters. I love Alexy's personality; a very no-nonsense women who is very capable and decisive. It was great watching her become more accepting of her inner passions and let go of fear. Great love story of transformation and healing.

a must

The only reason I gave it an overall 4 star instead of 5 is the abrupt ending. There has to be a conclusion to this book there were a few unfinished storylines to some of the characters. But, Kim Baldwin comes thru once again, with suspense and love story. I really enjoyed the performance. It is worth listening!!!

A Collection of Cliches

It wasn't a total disappointment I suppose, but it wasn't anything I'll listen to again w/o a complete loss of memory. Blayne while being way impulsive and totally lacking in maturity stumbles into the middle of a mob murder. Thus we're now treated to the written version of a TV crime show. The plucky, irrepressible amateur is convinced that she knows the situation and can protect herself much better than the professionals are able to. Then there is of course the compromised officer of the law keeping the mob apprised of the witnesses movements. varied assassination attempts are escaped and the two lesbians being thrown together will of course become very close. This seems to be rather unlikely given that Alexi is gorgeous, wealthy , sophisticated, educated and intelligent. Blayne on the other hand seems to be more of a pain than anything else, her constant sexual harassment of Lexi reminds me of a scene from Madmen. It feels wrong that such ridiculous frat boy come-ons would appeal to a woman like Lexi nor does Blayne come off as a particularly likable human being. I speak particularly of the manner in which she pursues whatever she wants in the moment without regard to either her own safety or anyone else's. I am a fan of the author's Alaskan series and the author is good at keeping the story moving so I decided it was close enough to 3 stars to round up.

Great fun

This was a charming, delightful romantic action novel.

My only con was that the narrator lost the accent for the one character a couple of times and there were audio patches that didn't match the main audio. That pulled me out of the story.

Still, it was an utterly charming audiobook and well worth a listen

Good story

I liked the story but hated the narration. I felt like I was being read to instead of listening to a performance.
