About this listen

A new Isekai LitRPG about an everyday veterinarian reincarnated into fantasy world dictated by a System.

Master his rare magic. Gather followers. Rise to power.

When Zareth was first reborn into a strange new world of magic and wonder, he was ecstatic. He’d expected to go on to live an exciting life filled with danger and adventure.

Instead, Zareth spends much of his new life on the streets of Tal’Qamar before eventually becoming a Cultist to Cerebon, God of Flesh and Transformation, where he spends most of his time helping rich women smoothen their skin.

Just when he had given up hope of his fantasy life ever being anything exceptional, everything changes. The leaders of Tal’Qamar are assassinated, leaving a power vacuum at the top.

This is his chance. Zareth can fill that void, take control of a feuding city, and grow his cult from nothing. But he isn't the only one after the crown.

Will his Flesh Magic alone be enough to see him safe through his rise to power?

Cultist of Cerebon is a new isekai LitRPG adventure featuring a detailed magic System, unique skills, slow-build power progression, an intelligent MC, and deep worldbuilding. What a great litRPG! I ❤ it. You definitely need to add this Isekai to your library.

I really, really loved every minute of Flesh and Magic and plan to dive into reading Flesh and Secrets on release day June 11! And I also plan on telling everyone to read this litRPG... As the story unfolds we find Zareth, our MC having already obtained his class as Cultist of Cerebon. But now he's faced with growing the faithful into a bountiful group, no easy task. While helping the city survive the upcoming war and facing off the assassins with his new found abilities and followers! Most important of all is finding the money, the resources to accomplish this!!!
So you definitely need to add this Isekai litRPG to your library. And if you want to treat yourself go get the audiobook, because Wayne Mitchell is great!

Here's a quote that amused me!

“Just little piles of sand with shiny teeth—how could I not want one?

Great listen, with a very odd choice of ending.

I struggle with this narrator, but the story carried.
I will be following this series and author.

That said... the timing of the ending was a strange choice. It's almost like it was chosen based on word count instead of any pacing or narrative decision... it just, ends.

If you need a tidy ending, you.may want to wait until the next book is out, and listen to them back to back.

a flesh of a good time

story starts with a bang, and a cultist being elevated as one of the primary religions in the city, as the mc grows his cult for his God, as war breaks out.

This was fun

I always wondered which type of magic I would select if I get it a card to another world and always landed on flash magic. This did not make me change my mind.

Great story, meh narrator

Loved the story but the narrator was the one thing that kept throwing me out of my immersion

Unique world and protagonist

Liked but didn’t love it. The writing was excellent and the world and power system were fresh but something just didn’t click.

Uniquely horrible in the best ways

MC's abilities are very innovative and fascinating to read about. The small POV change really sells just how grotesque the cult is, and yet the charity of the group really presents a nice counterpoint to the horrors that persist. The magic system is nicely defined and the characters vibrant and well crafted. Love the creativity behind pets and plastic surgery, and upcoming war applications. All round, a good webnovel adaption to audiobook.

Unique LitRPG

I really like that this story didn’t start from the moment of isekai. Too many books do that and they don’t do it well. It was refreshing to have a person who has been in the world for a while be the protagonist. I almost forgot that this was a LitRPG. It felt more like a cultivation novel with the cult setting. The story was interesting and engaging. The narrator did a great job.

More than a litrpg more political thriller

This isn't just a lit R. P. G, this is also a political thriller. We have a person who's also. I'm trying to get things done for themselves, but at the same time trying to balance that out right with the political pressures and the pressures of not becoming a tyrant themselves as well as what everybody else wants. Without being traded into some pretty dark stuff, so if you like political forevers, this is the book for you

It’s a strange new world but I like it!

This is an incredible book. The Cultist class evolution path as seen through a reincarnated veterinarian isn’t even the half of what this grimdark world has to offer. From start to finish we are taken through this middle eastern third world country atmosphere where flesh manipulation is how our hero will earn a living and hopefully escape to a better place. Only, outside the city are terrible monsters and only the craziest adventures risk travel.
So, we must build skills and cult followers, please the Elder God Cerebon and try not to be mutilated at any moment. In other words it’s a deep world with significant threat and imagination for power usage on every page.
Wayne Mitchell’s narration deftly navigates the various creature voices while maintaining a tense or pondering tone with ease.
This book is well worth a reread and follow because this tiger is loose and I’m barely holding on.
