About this listen

Gods, monsters, and magic school. Class will never be the same.

My Florida summer is not so hot. My mom and sister disappear, my dad is killed by a rogue wave, and then Hermes - yeah the god guy - shows up. He says a wave didn’t kill my dad - it was a monster from Greek myth. He invites me to attend Mount Olympus Academy where I’ll learn to be a killer and take my revenge.

My classmates are vampires, witches, and shifters - all of us training to fight in the war between the gods and monsters. There’s also...Val. He’s a vampire, and I can’t stop thinking about him, even though interspecies dating is taboo. Plus, he’s got secrets too.

I get secrets. The wings that sprout from my back were hidden from me my entire life. I’ve learned how to control them, but haven’t completed a full shift yet, which makes it impossible to figure out what I am. And...sometimes, I breathe fire. Which is weird, but also unfortunate, because someone has started setting fires on campus, and right now all the evidence points to me.

I need to figure out how to shift and clear my name, or else I’m going to find out what happens to those who betray the gods. I’ve heard they die by fire or flood...and I don’t like either of those options.

Good beginning

Fun book, not perfect but fun nonetheless. I’ll be interested to see where they take the series to.

very enjoyable

i have read the book and just finished the audiobook. The book didn't do much for me. It was just okay but it just had a potential. I've read others in this universe series and I enjoyed him so I decided I was going to get the audible. I will have to tell you the audiobook brought life to this. I think I'm just going to do the audio books for the rest of this series because there's some characters that show up and another series from this one and I want to meet him for the first time here all over again

Entertaining but predictable

This story was enjoyable to listen to. I think if I had just the read the story I would not want to continue the series, but the reader brought it more to life. I did get very tired of the main character. Too much whining. Yes yes, she had this and that happen to her and yet she could think about boys and wether people liked her or not. I guess it's normal for teenagers. I'm not sure. I can't stand teenagers and never could even when I was one. way too much drama over boys mostly and catty attitudes. But story had some twists including a small one I did not see coming which is rare. I knew what shape shifter form she was from the get go though. I do like some of the other characters and tiny group that developed. But overall a teen drama good for a quick speed listen (seriously it's pretty short) and break from master pieces like Tolkien. Good enough I'm buying book 2 and do not regret getting this one
