About this listen

"So much emotion it flew off the page and knocked the wind out of me. Finding Mercy was another great story by the absolutely brilliant Riley Edwards." (Jennifer Pierson: The Power of Three Readers)

DEA Agent Jason Walker became a widower at 28. Two years later he’s still torturing himself with guilt. They’d married young, and she’d been his first love, but her illness changed everything. They’d fought a losing battle and he’d held her to the very end. Now he just wants to be left alone with his misery and memories.

Mercy James is no stranger to grief and loneliness. Her brother’s death of a drug overdose, and her police officer father’s death in the line of duty were the driving forces behind her pursuit of a career in the DEA. In spite of—or maybe because of—her past, Mercy doesn’t believe in feeling sorry for others, or for herself.

When a case brings Jason and Mercy together, and their attraction heats up, can her tough, straightforwardness help Jason learn to live in the light again? He’d lost his first love, but is he ready for a forever love?

Oh Mercy

"Mercy, Mercy, Mercy you make me loose my mind."
Enough said...
Devon and Troy once again bring a stellar performance to the table. I dont know how they got through this one because I would have seriously been in tears the whole time.

A little different…

Book 3 is a little different from the first 2 books. With Jason and Mercy being partners for the Narcotics Division, they learned how to work together. Jason treated her as an equal and I loved that. They both had some inner struggles that they had to deal with. Riley was able to take us through the pain Jason felt. From seeing how he thought he didn’t deserve to be happy. To him realizing that he his heart did in fact have room for love. The author also showed us the difficulties Mercy had with her self-confidence and trust. She had an inner struggle with things that she’d been told in her younger years.

Mercy…
When I was a kid my dad used to tell me that one day my lack of self-preservation was going to get me in trouble.

Jason…
It had been far too long since I’d laid eyes on her. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t miss about her. Nothing in my life felt right without her in it.

Through it all, Ms Edwards showed us the strength it took for both characters to make it to the other side where there was a happily ever after waiting.

Troy and Devon did a wonderful job bringing Jason and Mercy to life. They were able to voice all of the emotions the characters went through so well. Troy did a phenomenal job with the side character’s voices. Devon did the same. She had to contend with the voices of a group of women. When I reflect back on the book, I feel very satisfied. Both author and narrators took me on a journey that I’m grateful to have traveled.

Good story

Troy Duran is the best narrator. The female narrator was not so good. Story was good and the family is enjoyable.

FAN! SWOON!

Great third installment to the series, couldn't put it down! Loved all the emotions the characters make you feel through their stories. Didn't like how it didn't give more of a conclusion to a proper justice to the villains in the story. Great ending, can't wait for fourth installment!

Hmm 🤔

I totally love this series but Please , Please tell the female narrator to stop whispering it's horrible I have to keep turning the volume up and still have trouble hearing her . I love her performance and the way she speaks but raise the volume of your voice !
So far this is one of my favorites.. it's worth the credit.

Enjoyed the book more, but very good performance

In general I really love most of Riley Edwards' books. I actually liked this one in book form more than the audible. However, the performance is very good. This book has a romance on a rocky road eventually leading to a happy ending. There is suspense and some great action scenes. It's very entertaining. It does contain steamy sex scenes which are tiresome to me.

I'm going to deem Riley the queen of awesome emoti

I'm going to deem Riley the queen of awesome emotional romance. Wow. Jason and Mercy tore me up in a good way. Broody, grumpy, loving, hot, protective, tortured, damaged man to fall for...check. Independent, take no crap, tough, kick-butt woman who sees through some BS...check. The rest of the 707 family to bring more awesomeness... yep. I may have paused a few times...just not the right time in my life to listen all the way through with so much high emotion...but that doesn't take away from the brilliance that is this story! And the narration to bring it to life...even better.

Love Mercy & Jason’s love story!

This book is a fave of mine. But listening to Devon’s constant whisper speak is so so annoying. Ugh. She does a good job w emotion but the constqnt soft speak whisper is overdone.

And of course I HAD to have the audible.
My only complaint is that listening to the same woman do the fmc for this book and Meadow for the last book is alsmot too much soft whispering talk. I feel like Mercy had a bigger voice. Not the soft whimpy style this vo can do at times. Most of the time the voice actor is good. But at times when she slipped into that softer voice-it didn’t fit Mercy for me at all. And I didn’t love it.
Not going to take any stars off bc both voice actors are strong and talented. This is more about my pref for this particular fmc.
