About this listen

My life has never been easy. Raised by a single mother only to have her die when I was eight. Leaving me alone, being passed from foster home to foster home filled with abuse until one day I found myself homeless.

Thankfully, a friend I didn’t realize I had was there. He rescued me from the streets.

But my life was not meant to be easy, and a hidden danger made its presence known.

Unknown to me, I had a stalker who would do anything in his power to make me his. When his first "gift" came, it showed just how much danger I was in, so I did the only thing I could: I ran.

Now I find myself in a place special to my mother suddenly surrounded by people who care about me.

But, like everyone in this world, they are not without issues and battles of their own.

Colin, Kaleb, Mack, and Ryker fought their way into my heart and showed me love I didn’t know existed. But when the danger I had been running from finds me and an enemy of my guys' surfaces, it leaves me questioning, will we make it through it alive and together?

Warning: This is a medium-burn contemporary dark reverse-harem novel. Triggering elements appear throughout the story.

Finding Memphis

This is the first book in the Memphis duet. Ash has had a difficult life. She lost her Mama at a young age. She went into the foster system and got bounced from home to home. She got a message from an unknown number that scared her to death. She ran and ended up in Memphis. She found a place that she could call home, under the protection of the local MC. This book ends on one heck of a cliffhanger. Allyson Voller and Scott Rose did a great job narrating this book.

Reverse Harem, Stalker, MC Dark Romance

I loved this book. It's suspenseful, has a stalker, reverse harem, and MC romance. Ashlynn has a stalker and flees to Memphis, her middle name. Memphis also happens to be where Ashlynn's mom was from. Ashlynn left her roomate and best friend behind, who liked her. I had some suspicions on who the stalker could be but wasn't 100% certain. I was for sure who Ashlynn's dad was. As soon as I finished the audiobook I immediately went and started reading book 2. For someone who started fairly innocent, Ashlynn really changes by entering into relationships with three men at one time! It has dark undertones but what I've read of the 2nd book is VERY dark! Things in both books aren't always as they first appear. There are triggering warnings in both books for sure.

Sweet & Sexy Bikers

RH MC books are usually like catnip to me, but this one just didn't hit the mark (for me). I like MC books because they are typically slow burn with lots of angst. I am not a fan of insta-love or insta-obsession, and you don't usually see it in MC books However, that's what you will get here. The bikers fall instantly for the FMC & they act uncharacteristically not only for bikers, but also for how they keep saying they themselves usually behave. If you do enjoy insta-love, insta-attraction, or insta-obsession and sweet bikers, however, this one will probably be for you. The writing isn't bad, and there is an intriguing mystery which adds dimension to the plot. The narrators do a very good job when narrating characters of their own sex, but the female narrator makes the male characters sound way too soft for my liking. Again, it's just my personal preference though. I want my bikers to sound gruff, not sweet & soft. Final warning, be ready for a killer cliffhanger at the end (pun intended).

Good start, interested for book 2!!

So I was on the fence with giving this a 3 or a 4 star. I ended up rounding down my 3.5 star rating to a 3 because the writing was one-dimensional in the first half of the book and the audio was good but the narrators didnt do much for their opposite sex portions of their POV chapters, especially the male narrator, and his audio quality was not great.

So I liked the premise of this book, the obsessive stalker make it interesting and suspenseful. I liked Ash and I loved the bonds she was making with her boss and coworker. I liked that she went back to where her home spent a lot of time, I wish we got a scene at one of the places she mentioned to her and not just us being told she went there (I think it would have connected us more with her and her family more). I liked how the 3 guys connected with her, some more than others. I think for me the stuff that didnt click for me was how much they talked/thought in their inner monologue about being “rough” and then had to say it to her after we had already heard it a bunch of times earlier. The guys were very one-dimensional most of the way through book 1, we got nothing below the surface really until Colin and his unfortunate mishap with Ash. The writing in that part felt very young/new author if you know what I mean. I think by the end of the book it had gotten a lot better and I didnt feel that way. But unfortunately it was like that for 50% of the book, which is why I gave it 3 instead of 4 stars. The steam was hot but it felt very quick, no development with these relationships besides Colin beforehand. I guess that is the take on the MC life but I have read a lot of MC and this one needed some expansion/connection/transition more if that makes sense. And what the heck is up with the last of the 4 guys. I wonder if the bad guys is related to him and influencing him to be this way? Need book 2 to come out on audio so I can find out!!

The audio was good, I liked the choice in the narrators, I thought they did a good job immersing themselves in these characters. I thought the emotional scenes, especially with Colin and when Ash has contact with the stalker were very believable and made me want to keep listening. I think what made me not give it 5 stars is the narrators didnt do a lot of differentiation when they did their opposite sex characters in that chapter. I think there were a couple chapters where the narration was pretty much the same voice/tone/inflection despite all the different male and female characters in it. Also the male narration audio quality was off compared to the female. It was very static-y and just didnt sound up to the quality audiobooks usually have. I would give the audio 3.5-4 stars.

Definitely going to check out book 2 once it’s available. The author drew me in by the end and I want to know how they rescue her, the twist at the end about her family (totally saw that coming haha), and how the one guy redeems himself with Ash.

Even better in audio

Ashlynn's life hasn't been easy since her mother's death when she was placed in the foster system. But she's a survivor and she had some help along the way. One of her rescuers came along as a friend who wants nothing more than for her to be happy; the other is much more dangerous and believes she belongs to him. When her stalker makes himself known, Ash runs. She goes to the one place her mom told her held the best memories of her life. Ash hopes she will be able to make good memories there herself. It's clear Memphis is where she's meant ot be. She finds a mother figure, a best friend, and hot bikers who want her. She may even be on the path to answers she's had her entire life. But her stalker isn't willing to let her go, and he's not willing to let her find a life without him.

Before I start, I have to say how much I love this cover. Okay. Now it's clear this author's writing could use a little polishing. Her characters need more depth. The dialogue was sometimes disjointed. The MC was a bit schizophrenic. Did they want to be dangerous manwhores or do-good amateur detectives? However, Bre Rose has the ability to draw you in. Ultimately, I loved Ashlynn, so I loved the story. I liked her finding her place in Memphis and I like the unknown danger. I did not like the lack of relationship-building. One minute the guys are "sticking it in any hole" and trying to see how far they can get inexperienced girls to go (Ick) and the next, they are completely reformed and ready to commit. Really? This sounds totally believable, right?
I also did not like her sleeping with 2 of the guys without condoms. MC manwhores. I don't care how inexperienced you are, anyone would know this is not a good or safe idea. I also don't see how Ryker is redeemable in Ash's eyes, with his brothers or the MC as a whole. He has betrayed them all and can't be trusted. I did enjoy the ending. The cliffhanger and the reveal were both expected but I still haven't figured out exactly who Unknown is and how he has gotten close, so I can't wait for the next book.

Allyson Voller and Scott Rose narrated this story. Scott was good at narrating the guys, giving each a distinct voice. However, Allyson was the star. She captured Ash brilliantly, capturing her every nuance. Some books are even better in audio than they are on page and I have a feeling this is one of those books. Allyson deserves credit for this. I will be looking for other books she has brought to life.

Excited for book 2!

This was a great read. I was hooked from the very beginning. The audiobook narration was great especially since they were doing southern accents. Great spicy scenes too 🥵

Enjoyable story

I loved the Fmc and the town. The story was good. I like the mystery in the story. There were a few times you had to suspend reality, and remember, this is a book, not real life. I struggled with the narration in spots, mainly where the female was doing a male voice and vise versa. It's not bad it's just not my favorite

Great Story & Listen🎧 Captivating & Smoking🔥Hot!

This is my first book written by Brae Rose, I enjoyed the characters and storylines she created, the story captivated my attention the entire time and the characters were easy to relate to and connect with. Ashlynn has not had the easiest of lives brought up by a single mom who died when she was just eight years old with no other family, so they placed her in the foster system, which turned into some terrible situations for her. Someone looked out for her while she was in school and after she aged out of the foster system, he helped her out again. Somewhere along the way, she caught the attention of someone who became her stalker and a threat to anyone who tried to get close to her. She made a run for it, not only for her sake, but for everyone she cared about, especially Devin, the one who has been helping her. And she went to the one place her mom talked fondly about, Memphis, and met someone who was kind and helped her get her feet on the ground. And then she meets not one but four of the hottest of guys, and she is interested in each of the, three, Kaleb, Colin and Make return the feelings, but the jury is still out on the other, Ryker, I am still trying to figure him out. These men belong to the local MC and they have some of their own drama going on, thanks to someone messing with them, there is a traitor in the club. This first book of the duet lays down the foundation of what is coming, the pacing and plotting is great and there is a perfect balance of drama, angst, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions, and some steamy romance, reverse harem style. Bre Rose, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to what comes next in “Saving Memphis”.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Allyson Voller and Scot Rose did an amazing job portraying these characters, humanizing them with their own distinct voice and personality. I loved how they took each role, ran with it, and made it their own. Voller played Ashlynn’s role with perfection, grasping her every emotion, from her strength to her insecurities. Rose did the same for all the male characters, each one sounding different, so it was easy to follow along and tell how is who. Both are fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.
