Sound quality gets a little weird at the end like she’s in a tunnel. I’m sure she’s a good narrator i just need a quicker cadence and to have the character sound like humans. Their voices all sound like they can’t be bothered.

Sounds quality

I really recommend reading this book, it's a good story, but I really think it would have been better with a better Narrator. Read the book...pass on the audio version.

Good story

Natalie Buchanan takes a temporary assignment to New Zealand when her wife leaves her for a man. Leaving her beloved dog with her parents she returns to find that her brother lost him. Sarah finds a skinny matted blue eyed dog at the dumpster behind her workplace and apartment. Now two polar opposites have to find a way to compromise for the sake of the dog and themselves. Great performance and story. Recommend.

There is much to like about the works of Georgia Beers. For starters she is quite good at putting sentences together, they flow smoothly and the narrators who read her work are good as well. However this is the seventh book of hers I've read/ listened to and the increasingly derivative plots are becoming tiresome. The same 'ole misunderstandings and problems due to a lack of communication that are the essence of her main relationships once again rear their ugly heads. Then there are the two principal female characters; one is Sara who comes off mainly as an unlikable pain in the ass, she really would have to be hot to keep Natalie interested; it isn't as if she offers her much other reason for her interest. Natalie, contains two dimensions at most, she is the quintessential good girl, always giving of herself and her time. The's book's supporting characters are equally vague and indefinite as well, none of them are well drawn enough to be capable of lifting this pedestrian effort past the point of mediocrity. To add one more cactus spine to my feet both characters have the typical low body count when it comes to their sexual histories. As they always seem to be in any or all romance novels my age happens to fit halfway between the two main characters and unlike me and my equally slutty friends they obviously deserve the love of a good woman, or man, while just as obviously we do not.

Just finished listening to this little gem. It was a nice low-angst romance. The narration was quite good too. The story included a sweet protagonist, a bakery and a dog. All favorites of mine.

I loved the story by the author, but the narration of the book was cringe. I could hear every swallow every, smack of the readers mouth, and it was very offputting.

Story Great, narration cringe.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so frustrated and angry over a book especially a freakin romance one. Got to chapter 9 trying to push through because I usually like her books but the conflict is redundant and infuriating. Highly don’t recommend if you’re an animal lover.

Spoilers:
I don’t understand how an owner wouldn’t fight tooth and nail to get their dog back from a stranger. She didn’t even cry when she found out he was missing?? Also, I really want to punch Andrea in the face. She is the most unlike able character I’ve come across probably ever. How can you be telling your friend to keep another persons dog? Like the dog is described as being well trained/knows tricks and was described exactly and she’s like “oop, sounds like she was an abusive owner for letting this happen even though she was in a different country with no control and didn’t know until she got back! He’s your dog now!”. Also is continually referencing that she had breast cancer supposed to make us sympathize with her and make her more like able? I honestly could care less. Just cause something bad happened to you doesn’t make it okay for you to be a complete asshat

Finally, not sure if Bentley does actually remember her at some point but from experience: I was away from my family’s 3 dogs (two wiener dogs and a lab) for a year and all three remembered me and freaked the f**k out when I got back. That’s way longer than the 5 months she didn’t see him. So that was also super frustrating, not getting the satisfaction of the reunion.

Couldn’t finish

I typically love Georgia Beers' books, but this one was a let down. The story felt forced, repetitive, and overall just bland. I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator, either. I caught myself literally rolling my eyes at times. Not my favorite, for sure.

definitely not the best
