About this listen

From the writer of the Netflix sensation A Christmas Prince, and Christmas Camp, the movie and novel, comes a heartwarming new Christmas story, Finding Christmas, showing how sometimes the detour in your journey is the path to true love.

With all the glittering decorations, twinkling lights, snow angels, gingerbread men, and mistletoe, Christmas is Emmie’s first love.

This year, she can’t wait to share her favorite Christmas traditions with her boyfriend, Grant. She thinks he’s “the one”. So when Grant’s hectic work schedule has him more “Bah Humbug” than “Ho, Ho, Ho”, Emmie creates a holiday-themed scavenger hunt to help him find his Christmas spirit. At the end of the journey, Grant will arrive at the charming town of Christmas Point where she’s planned a romantic weekend filled with holiday activities.

But Emmie’s plan backfires when a mix-up has the wrong guy following her clues! Sam, a best-selling mystery writer, thinks Emmie’s clever Christmas riddles are from his agent, who is trying to help him get over his epic writer’s block.

When he arrives at Christmas Point and finds the stunned Emmie, he immediately feels she’s someone special, but she can’t see beyond the fact that the wrong guy has shown up. Inspired by the small, charming town, Sam decides to stay and convinces Emmie to join him in a little holiday fun while she waits for Grant.

When Grant finally shows up, Emmie is disappointed to discover he’s not enjoying the activities she planned and can’t help wonder if he’s really the one for her. She also can’t get Sam out of her mind and all the great times they had together. With Christmas coming fast, Emmie will need the magic of the season to help steer her in the direction of true love....

Hallmark movie in book form

The story was decent. As Hallmark movies usually are, it was saccharine sweet and over the top with cheesiness. The main character was whiny at times, which I found off putting. I also found her to be a little too concerned with her wants and forget that other people have needs and wants also. The narrarator was good.

A Nice, Relaxing Christmas Story

This was pretty corny, but because I have no tolerance for stress and conflict anymore, I appreciated the ease of it.

Great Story

I loved the story. I liked the narrator how ever I didn't care for the way it was read. The voice changes from person to person were good. I don't have any complaints about that. Only the way it was read. Each word was drawn out and slow. Even when there was an exciting moment in the story. The narrator's reading sounded depressed. I suffered through the whole story because I bought the book as an audio and I loved the story line. It would have been a much better read if I had read the book myself. Don't get me wrong the narrator is good just not for this book.

Hallmark Christmas

I loved the narration of this book. The narrator did an outstanding job. It was a beautiful Christmas story involving mishaps that ultimately lead to a happy ending. My biggest frustration with this book is a timeline issue. When describing a day of skating, making cookies, having lunch, etc. there were just way too many things that took hours to accomplish to fit a believable timeline. I know this is petty, but it annoyed me. But the rest was great fun.

Sweet story, but the narrator...

This is my first novel by Karen Schaler, and definitely won’t be the last. I loved it! I’m a Christmas nut, so this was a perfect holiday story, precious.
The narrator does a beautiful job with the main character. Her voice is sweet & beautiful, almost angelic. Most of the other female characters sound a little sketchy, but okay...
That being said, the narrator is horrible at male voices, just awful. Not one single male character could be as attractive as the author describes (male model material) and talk that atrociously! You imagine Matthew McConaughey, but when they speak, you see Cousin Eddie.

Too much detail

The story is cute but predictable. It's exactly what I expected from the overview. The details in the book are overwhelming. I feel like more information on details was in the book than the story itself. Also, kinda cheesy at some points. There were a few times I felt like I was forcing myself to finish the story.
