Explosive

This was definitely the wildest, craziest, and best ride yet for Rachel Hatch. This girl finds trouble like a pig on a truffle, but this time she's in over her head. Rachel finds herself fighting for justice on two continents in this exciting read. If I didn't already like this character, this particular story would have had me falling in love with her strength, ferocity, tenacity, and bull-dogged sense of justice.

Rachel Hatch is a woman who simply can't look away when someone is being abused, especially if it involves a person wielding power like a weapon. When her search for her father's killer takes her to a small African village, Rachel learns more than she ever wanted to about warlords, injustice, and the lack of liberty for the average person. Along this journey, she meets some incredible people with very different viewpoints from hers. An African inn owner, a priest, and a guerilla fighter all provide her with unique perspectives on life and how we choose to live it. While none of this is preachy or intended as some sort of political platform, the effects these people have on Rachel's life will have a lasting impact. One of my favorite things about reading a series is watching the character grow through their life events, and Rachel's character is ticking all the boxes for me.

Fans of suspense/thrillers and those who enjoy justice-seeking characters with intelligence, a strong moral compass, and the skills to help others will enjoy this series. It can be picked up at any point, but I recommend starting at the beginning of the series to understand just how unique Rachel is.

Good Stuff

Rachael Hatch and I drove across America together! The first three books were very entertaining and thrilling enough to keep me awake. I look forward to the next three books in this series. I just need to plan a road trip!

Companion series to Jack Reacher

I love having a good “guy” to cheer for, and Hatch is a worthy protagonist with a moral calling to help those who can’t do so themselves. She has her demons from the past, which seems formulaic, but she’s good at heart. There are the antagonists who seem to have no goodness in them to balance her presence, and there are the real people, like you and me who have a measure of good and bad. It’s the yin/yang of reality.
I’m hoping we see more yin/yang in Hatch in the future.
My new favorite series still though.

Excellent third installment to this series...

I really like the Rachel Hatch series. These books are coauthored by L. T. Ryan (Jack Noble) and Brian Shea (Nick Lawrence & Boston Crime series).
Rachel Hatch is a messed up lady. Discharged from the army after receiving a disfiguring injury that also limits her movement to one arm. She’s been on the hunt for her father’s killer. A killing that took place twenty years ago. In the meanwhile she moves from town to town and when she runs into a troubled community she’s compelled to help. Kind of like a female Jack Reacher. Fighting abilities and all. Minus the size, although she is very tall for a woman.
The Rachel Hatch books are fast paced and very entertaining.
Marnye Young does a wonderful job narrating. .............. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED .................If you found this review helpful please indicate so. ..............Thank You.
