Excellent Book

Dr George Newbern explains things in easy to understand terms, shares useful tools, and important information. As a licensed counselor for 20+ years I appreciate that Dr Newbern’s work, along with Beck’s helped shape my cognitive-behavioral training which is my primary approach to counseling, as I practice many of the techniques he shares in his book (with some variations of my own, and some of these approaches he shared I stumbled on, on my own. Albeit, with basic cognitive therapy training). It is good to see a Dr. educate the public in understandable terms. This is a useful book for anyone in the helping field and anyone who needs help. In fact, it would be great if it was a required text book for Psychology 202
