Publisher's summary

The Thirteenth Paladin and his companions are finally reunited with each other and have found a worthy ally in the Eternal Empress—another Paladin who will take part in the war against the Adversary. But the effects of Ahren's journey through the empire have left their mark on him. And so, they all set off to Thousand Halls, the original home of the dwarfs, in the hope of finding the mysterious Father of the Mountain who will surely help Ahren in his recovery.

If all goes to plan, the nations of Jorath will at last unite and build an alliance against the ever-growing Pall Cloud. Yet Ahren and his companions have underestimated the enemy, for the Dark god has long since prepared a trap, which is only waiting to snap shut on the unsuspecting travelers . . .

More exciting adventures

Enjoyed both the characters and the writing as Ahren's adventures continue. The dwarvish culture was well developed and explored in this book.

Great way to continue the Journey

This was an awesome addition to the whole line of good books.
It fills in a few questions and watching the Arhen grow was awesome as well. Don't listen to the one negative review I saw where it was mentioned to be haphazard mishaps this book was necessary in the continuing adventures of the 13 Paladin.

A world of its own

This book is extremely well done as well as the rest of the series. Not only did the writer do a wonderful job. The person translating did a wonderful job as well. It is seamless between the two cultures. Because it is stone world there is no language in reading this book.

Reading by Gildart Jackson is the absolute Best!!

Love all the 13th Palladin books. Gildart Jackson is the absolute best narrator! His voices are distinctive. They fit the characters I envision in my head as we read the story by Torsten Weitze. His readings are what bring this story to life! I can barely wait to get to the next book to hear him again. They're not the same without him.

The storyline is moving along well , just at the right speed. I have grown to identify with each of the characters.

Good but somewhat repetitive.

The story itself is quite good. It’s not one of those books that’s terribly complicated. Some plots were quite easy to figure out while others were somewhat harder. However the author is rather repetitive in som phrases and words. Overall a good book tho. Would definitely recommend.
