About this listen
The hugely anticipated brand-new Rivers of London novel....
Peter Grant is facing fatherhood and an uncertain future with equal amounts of panic and enthusiasm. Rather than sit around, he takes a job with émigré Silicon Valley tech genius Terrence Skinner's brand-new London start-up - the Serious Cybernetics Company.
Drawn into the orbit of Old Street's famous 'silicon roundabout', Peter must learn how to blend in with people who are both civilians and geekier than he is. Compared to his last job, Peter thinks it should be a doddle. But magic is not finished with Mama Grant's favourite son.
Because Terrence Skinner has a secret hidden in the bowels of the SCC. A technology that stretches back to Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage and forward to the future of artificial intelligence. A secret that is just as magical as it technological - and just as dangerous.

8 books in still good.
To be honest, it's hard to find new ways to praise these at the 8th book. it just feels like there's a lot of interesting development in the cast of characters and they keep getting involved in new interesting mysteries.
Can't wait to start the next one.

Still a favourite series.
Oh Rivers of london audio, how i love thee, let me count the ways:
Accents.
Action.
Plot-twists.
Serious geek cred.
Magic!
Middling attempt at an Aussie Accent, (mind you, it is explained as the character putting it on thick)
If you’ve come this far in the series, all you need to know is it is still great.

Ripping yarn, again
Ben Aaronovitch just doesnt let you down. Another great book in this series. And I just love Kobna Holbrook-Smith's voice, or should I say voices. These two combine to make this Audible series my all time favorite listen. I hope if you are reading this review that you jump in and listen to this utterly superb series . You will not be disappointed.

Love the series. This one is the weakest
Struggled. Felt edited and backstory when none needed and none when lots needed. Ended quickly.
Philosophically so much more could have been drawn out. Magic vs AI vs what it means to be human vs god and so on
Still. Can’t wait for the next one
Kobna remains an awesome narrator

Mistakes were made when publishing
The chapters are in the wrong order... Makes listening very difficult to understand. Not happy.
