Story
A terrorist bomb explodes during a South Korean celebration of the anniversary of the election of its first president. Alarms are raised in Washington. No one is claiming responsibility. The first suspect is North Korea. Could it be making a power play against South Korea and unification? If so, how will the U.S. respond? Paul Hood, Director of the Op-Center, must answer these questions. The Op-Center, a largely autonomous new agency which takes on the government's toughest security problems, is only six months old, and has never been given a foreign crisis until now.

A powerhouse fusion of pathos and humor, brutal realism and intimate reflection, Flying Through Midnight is a landmark contribution to Vietnam War literature, revealing previously top-secret intelligence on the 606's night missions. Fast-paced, thrilling, and bitingly intelligent, Halliday's writing illuminates it all: the heart-pounding air battles, the close friendships, the crippling fear, and the astonishing final escape that made the telling of it possible.

Marine pilot Brad Austin and his carrier-based F-4 Phantom group fly into the heart of enemy territory daily without fear, but the rules of engagement hinder them nearly as much as the North Vietnamese. Restricted from attacking the enemy's MiG bases, Austin and the other American pilots are vulnerable to attack without the ability to retaliate, a weakness that tragically leads to the death of Austin's wingman. Consumed by the need to avenge his comrade, Austin goes one-on-one with the enemy in a battle that ultimately proves in war there can be no rules.

Her cell phone rings, bringing an offer that may postpone her soul searching. The discovery of an airplane graveyard containing a dozen commercial airliners is shocking. Three-time Hugo Award-winning author Allen Steele now imagines an alternate history rooted in an actual historical possibility: what if the race to space had occurred in the early days of WWII? It's 1941, and Wernher von Braun is ordered by his Fuehrer to abandon the V2 rocket and turn German resources in a daring new direction: construction of a manned orbital spacecraft capable of attacking the U.S. Work on the rocket - called Silbervogel - begins at Peenemunde. Though it is top secret, British intelligence discovers the plan, and brings word to Franklin Roosevelt.

Lights, Camera, Escape!
This was a clever story that I enjoyed listening to. At 2 hrs long it was easy to finish in one go. The plot idea was what pulled me to this story. I mean imagine: movie-magic made useful, even essential for the crew! The execution was not disappointing. The narrator had different voices for the main characters making it easy to listen along. If you want a nice quick listen and enjoy thinking of escape situations, you will like this!

Quick and Fun Listen
Would you try another book from Michael Gerald Uva and/or Rhiannon Angell?
Yes to both. The story was fun and the narration was well done. I think the narration could have benefited from some silent space as the scenes changed. There was a lot going on in this very fast paced book. Lots of characters introduced in a short span. Otherwise, I thought the narration was handled nicely.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Several times I wished I had more description of how characters got from one scene to another, but I understand this was a short story.
Which scene was your favorite?
Funny scene when all the soldiers were anxiously waiting around the speaker to hear more steamy dialog between the women.
Any additional comments?
