I already enjoy the story as an owner of the book, but wow the narration in some sections was absolutely incredible. The paragraphs about mourning a father, and a pet.. will bring a damn tear to your eye. Re-listened just for the narrator. I don't know how the names are supposed to be pronounced so I didn't care about any of that. Loved the performance.

This novel does well in detailing key locations of interest in the world of Azeroth and in telling of the history of the continent’s various regions. Can’t wait for when Exploring Pandaria is available and hope that a book for the Dragon Isles will be made available as well. If the Dragon Isles receive their own entry, Wrathion and Sabellian would make for interesting and animated guides for that journey.

Loved the story overall, but was a bit let down that there wasn't more oversight on pronunciation of places and names. Pulled me out of my zen when he mispronounced names like Cairne ("Curne") and Garrosh ("Garrish"). minor nit pick though

First, if you don't play WoW and don't get direction on how to pronounce the names of the characters and places, DON'T READ OUT LOUD TO ANYONE.

Dear Gods, the narrator can't poop or get off the pot with the Troll Jamaican accent. If Zekhan (ZappyBoi) is supposed to be narrating it, then FFS, get it right!!!! Get the girl who voiced Talanji or Bwonsamdi, but dear gods, anything but this guy. I winced every time he mispronounced a proper name. I mean, he might as well have dropped trou and peed on Chris Metzen. That's why getting WoW audio books are such a crapshoot, you never know if they're going to get it right or not.

The narrator isn't bad, in fact he is great at Zekhan! Which makes sense, since it's his voice actor, but he does nothing to differentiate between all the other characters. Literally everyone is done in pretty much the same voice. This makes it really hard sometimes to know when he has changed character perspectives (especially asides by Rexxar). I'm not sure why Blizzard/Audible didn't have at least one more voice actor, the way they did with the Eastern Kingdoms book. Or, since they only hired one, why there wasn't more emphasis put on making sure everyone had their own voice.

In this second instalment of the Exploring Azeroth series, Blizzard historian Sean Copeland invites us to explore the continent of Kalimdor through the eyes of the legendary hunter Rexxar and the Horde ambassador Zekhan.

Together they embark on a perilous and revealing journey through the wilds, from the walls of Orgrimmar to the golden plains of Mulgore and Un'Goro Crater.

Along the way, the protagonists share knowledge, lore, gear, and landscapes that are at the heart of World of Warcraft history.

The book is illustrated with immersive art and offers new perspectives on iconic characters, mythical creatures, and iconic areas from the game.

Although the approach is more visual and descriptive than narrative, Copeland's style blends official documentation with Zekhan's subjective point of view, adding a personal and sometimes controversial touch.

The narrator mispronounced almost everyone and every place, things like tyrand(ayy) and curn..and the valley of strenf. It was just odd this was not caught in production and editing. He reads well but I blame the editors and producers for not correcting the mispronunciation. idk maybe I'm just a nerd who plays the game too much.

Love the story, narrator's pronunciation was cringy at times, and no distinction between characters made it hard to listen to at times.

I’m a huge Warcraft fan and as such loved exploring this world . For non Warcraft players probably not a good listen but for those who’ve immersed themselves into the game for years you’ll 💯 love this .
