A friendly fire incident in Afghanistan takes a serious toll. A drone, out of control, brings death and wreaks havoc on a Florida highway. An apparently successful corporation comes under scrutiny.

A memorable incursion behind corporate closed doors, led by an up-and-coming private investigator, a modern detective on a mission to find the truth about the lives lost to the very technology that was mandated to protect them.

Our skies aren't safe anymore.

A thought-provoking page turner, Executive sizzles with plausible scenarios, conveyed in technical and business terminology at an unrelenting pace.

I liked the idea behind the story

I really wanted to like this book more. I liked the idea behind the story, I liked the main character, all the characters actually but there were just so many times that the language just didn't seem to fit.
It seemed too stiff somehow with too many extra words or too many old fashioned words.
The book is set pretty much in today's world but I felt like the characters from from 50 years ago sometimes the way they spoke.
This was quite distracting and took away from the story quite a bit for me.
The story is one of intrigue but I just had a hard time wading through it and really struggled to finish. I only finished it as it was a gift copy in return for my honest review.
I don't think it was the narrator, I found him to be very efficient and his character voices were just fine, it was the language and the words in the writing.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review honestly.

Scary Executives

This is the first book I've read by Leslie Wolfe. I started out with the audio book because I have such a long drive but was so into the story that I just had to by the ebooks version to read while I wasn't driving. omg, this book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. it's very scary to think of stuff like this happening. the characters are so very well developed, I feel like I know them. some are really scary. the narrator was good. There were just a few times it sounded kind of like a computer voice but not much. I know one thing, I will for sure be buying all this author's books or audiobooks.

Great Read

Executive (Alex Hoffman #1) was a good read by Leslie Wolfe. A serious toll happens after a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan. An out of control drone kills people and wreaks havoc on a Florida Highway. A company that seems successful comes under scrutiny. An up and coming executive is on a mission to find the truth about the people who died and the technology that was supposed to protect them. This book explored toxic leadership and their long term consequences. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

A really great story with lots of interesting info

This book takes us into the manufacturing world of building Drones to be used by the military as well as by the public in the use of GPS technology. I found all the information about how the Drones are built and what they are used for really interesting. I also enjoyed what the book was about, Alex Hoffman comes to our attention and how her life is changed by what she's asked to do. I loved all the suspense and look forward to reading or listening to more books in the Alex Hoffman series. I received a free code for this book from Audiobooks Unleashed to listen to on Audible. This review is my own honest opinion.

Wolf has a nice start to a promising career

Executive had an interesting premise--bad guys doing bad things for money. Heroine was engaging. However, Wolf dumbed her down a little too much for the intelligent techie she was portrayed as. Only other caution was the repeating of info readers already knew. An example is the repetitive news stories.
Nice job overall. Recommend Wolf takes the online writers curriculum at Stanford Writers School. --Chris

Meh!

It was a good story but it was not the best performance. The narration could have had a little more inflection to it.

Inconsistent

Inconsistent characters, wrong choice in narrator but overall good storyline. The authors' interpretation of how Alex acted was completely wrong with the credentials she held. With an IQ of 164 Alex acts like a school child without knowledge in the simplest of things. She wouldn't be asking Tom IT questions if she was an IT expert. Finally the narrarator' voice for Alex was condescending and utterly wrong for her character.
