About this listen
With Hurricane Madison barreling toward Aberdeen, Georgia, the Hurst family scrambles to prepare their home for the coming gale. But as the eye of the storm approaches, Cooper Hurst becomes all too aware that their household will have to endure far more than wind and rain. The Necronomicon was not the first book by H.P. Lovecraft to terrify readers with tales of dark and twisted horrors from beyond. No, the Al-Azif, or Book of the Insect, is the first work that told mankind of Cthulhu, Azathoth, and other terrors. Indeed, it was the book that inspired "The Mad Arab" Abdul Al-Hazred to write its more famous successor.

Jacob York narrated this book perfectly, as usual. The story is creepy and horrific and rather surprising. Great writing. Definitely one of those stories you tell around a campfire. And if a storm happens to be on its way, so much the better!

Scary weather
A short story in search of a collection to be part of. I'm so glad this was offered in the PLUS Catalog at Audible or I'd never have heard it. Who would waste a full credit on a 40 minute story when there are 30 hour novels available for the same price. This "audible book' you'd purchase with a few bucks I guess.
Good horror story - Yeah... it's OK - could have been a interesting novel. Maybe one day. It's serious all the way through it's short run time - none of that tiresome tongue-in-cheek easy way to slide through "genre" material by authors who don't want to work too hard, or signal to the audience that they don't really believe in this stupid stuff like ... oh - I don't want to give it away.

Great short story!
This short story was suspenseful and interesting from the start. I enjoy a story that keeps me guessing about what might happen next and this story fit the bill.
I would reccomend this story to anyone that enjoys a good suspenseful and creepy story, particularly middle school aged kiddos. My 2 middle schoolers and I enjoyed it equally.
The only thing that I'd change would be to make it into a full length novel. There are many story elements that could have been explored more, yet not to the detriment of the story. As this story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger that allows the reader's mind to imagine the possibilities, I am hopeful that the author might share what he thinks will come next.
