About this listen

President Jack Spiers and former Secret Service agent Ethan Reichenbach throw caution to the wind, committing themselves publicly as the first out male lovers and partners to occupy the White House. Jack moves Ethan into the Residence, but as Ethan settles into his new role as first gentleman of the United States, not everyone is thrilled with their choices. When it seems like the world turns against them, Jack and Ethan must turn to each other, finding the strength together to press on.

In the chaos, Jack's relationship with Russian President Sergey Puchkov grows closer, and the two nations find themselves working almost as allies. But President Puchkov has secrets of his own, secrets that could rip everything apart. And Ethan steps back into the action with Lieutenant Adam Cooper, taking charge of a covert kill team tasked with hunting down General Madigan once and for all.

But Madigan is elusive, and his dangerous reach is long. He strikes at Jack and Ethan from the shadowy corners of the globe, unraveling their entire world. As the mad general draws new allies together, he is single-minded in his quest to destroy the only two men who ever beat him.

Contains mature themes.

Awesome!

This book is fabulous! Tal Bauer's books are wonderfully exciting and well written. Put together with John Solo's performance- WOW! John Solo makes the characters in this book come alive with his narration. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Great job!!

One of the best!

I could not stop listening! This is the book where the heroes are broken, and the enemy mostly prevails and it was gut wrenching! The romance and intrigue and action just had me from start to finish. Mr Solo does an excellent job with the different characters. Cannot wait to get into the next installment.

Wow!!

Still processing this one - but cannot express all that I liked about it by text. I’m just so stunned about the developments, and never saw any of the twists coming. Action packed and thrilling, Mr. Bauer surpassed my wildest expectations with this sequel. I’ve never had an audiobook emotionally effect me like this one and I have to attribute that to the writing and performance by Mr. Solo as well.

100/10 would recommend, simply put this is the embodiment of audiobook entertainment.

Great storytelling, terrific narrator, just the right mix of international thriller and steamy romance.

On pins and needles.

What a great, frustrating, tantalizing ride! Highly recommend for anyone interested in MM relationships with a touch of end of the world military maneuvers.

Warms heart then Rips it out

This is the second book in the series and just as excellent as the first. The first half is puppies and rainbows and the second half is war and violence. So much stuff happens it’s at least two books in one.

I recommend listening to the first book twice if you want to absolutely follow everything.

Great story. Great narration.

Political intrigue, secret romances, spies, murder, nations on the brink of war, a dash of science fiction that is close enough to reality to be believable, intense character development, glances into life in multiple cultures, what doesn't happen in this book? I think there might have even been a mention of a unicorn.

This story is fast paced, intense, and action packed, but the author does an amazing job of including tender and romantic moments that give the reader a chance to catch their breath and a chance to get to know the characters a little better.

The narration was nicely done for such an intense read. John Solo gave each character a distinct voice, and he also did a great job of transitioning from action scenes to quieter moments.

Overall a great read/listen that is worth visiting multiple times.

OMG

How much can one man take. One President handle. The chaos has been never ending since Jack became President. He been a single widow for such a long time that doesn’t know when he being to friendly or how his friends is being read by anyone else but man when he figures it out he on it full boar. Over all I have enjoyed this series. I of course want the next book because I need to know what happens. The Russian Sergey and what he discovers about himself. Does Scott make it back to his family? Does Cooper figures out who his mole is. OMG. So much stress and clinch teeth.

Utterly devastatingly brilliant

My first thought after finishing those two first books was: WHEN can we expect book 3? Tal Bauer breaks you down and then builds you up again, all without losing the breathless pace of the story. I cannot begin to explain how captivated I was, listening to John Solo's brilliant narration. He is not merely a narrator, but a gifted voice actor. This was a book I lay thinking about when I could not sleep at night. Brilliant.
