Publisher's summary

Growing up, Ash Bane and his sister had one rule to follow when they visited their grandma: never enter her art studio.

An odd rule, if you asked Ash, but when he finds himself staring at the painting his sister vanished into, it doesn’t seem all that odd.

Determined to save her, Ash and his best friend follow her through the painting.

But travelers are not welcome in this new world, and they must find a way home before the villainous lord has them executed for trespassing.

Emma Delaney, a fierce and spunky scrapyard worker native to this new land, holds the key to their return. An ancient card game filled with mysterious riddles will lead them to a hidden portal, but only if they’re brave enough to play the game.

Solving life-threatening puzzles, fighting magical beasts, and running from the lord’s patrol may be the least of Ash’s concerns when his heart betrays him, and Ash Bane and Emma Delaney find a love that spans worlds.

Delightful, Original, Emotional, Action Packed and Oh So Good!

When is a painting not a painting? When you’re pushed into one, and a portal opens transporting you into another world! Ash Bane, his sister Jenny, and best friend Renn find THAT out the hard way when a playful shove in his grandmother’s attic goes horribly wrong! What follows is “Ending in Cadence”, the beautifully original, dynamically written, adventure of a lifetime! The characters are fully representative of the good the bad and the ugly! All are fully described and fully developed. Close your eyes and you can SEE them, you can FEEL them, I swear in a few cases I could smell them. The dialogue flows smoothly and is completely believable. The scene setting is done beautifully and serves to cohesively move the story forward while making certain the listener is never left in the dark and is never left with unanswered questions. The plot is phenomenal! The story is unique, well thought out, interesting and action packed! I have to confess, I was completely taken by surprise by the ending. No spoilers, I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone but I must say, tears aside, I LOVED it! All of this is brilliantly brought to life through absolutely stunning narration! I think I felt every emotion possible while listening to this story because every emotion possible was truly present, and beautifully expressed in the performance of this audiobook! The pace is perfect, every word is clear, and every emotion on point! I don’t want to give anything away but I’ll confess, I walk while listening and I got a few looks for giggles and a few more for tears! THIS story is not one to be missed. Five fabulous stars!

intriguing and interesting

Ash was so brave he melted my heart, and Emma was brave too. I enjoyed both of these characters, Jenny was an actor and annoying almost all the time. What an ending I didn't expect. Lots of suspense , danger, and drama the whole way through I was glued to the story. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrators did a good job bringing the characters and story to life.
