Synopsis

At the start of the Cold War, to gain an advantage in the arms race, the Kremlin sanctions the creation of a Biological Warfare Weapons Research Facility in the Northern wastelands on the edge of the Baltic Sea along with the town of Yacheyka to house the scientists and their families—off the grid and not shown on any maps. An accident at the facility in the 1960s leads to the release of a deadly pathogen that instantly kills all traces of life up to a radius of ten miles. Scared of further contamination from the scientists' mortal creation, the Russians impose a fifty-mile exclusion zone around the facility, sealing the dead town forever.

Fast forward to the present day. Agneta Bergqvist, a wealthy present-day Swedish entrepreneur, environmentalist and climate activist, frustrated at a lack of progress on climate change, decides to teach humankind a lesson, enters the facility and steals the deadly weapon.
